WHEN is our next commitment?

Can anyone do some research to see how many of our commits got bumps after this point in the recruiting process last year? Sorry about being lazy.

So you don't think CBJ hand selecting his guys is worth more in the long run vs what Rivals or 247 labels a recruit as? You do know some of these services will give a kid a bump just because he pays to go to their events right? Yes, I get that where the class ranks is something the public eye see's. I honestly don't care what the class ranks as long as this staff starts winning. 2*'s and 3*'s go in the nfl draft all the time. Just a matter of picking the right kids for the systems.

How do you cope with this throughout the year knowing that these kids were ranked lower? i have a hard time waiting around for 6 months knowing the last class was loaded with 3*s. I know Butch obviously knows more then i do and has a plan, but its really tough to deal with that for an extended period of time not knowing if these kids will pan out.

I'd like to have a winning (or at least .500) season before I get pissed off about high 3* vs. low 4* recruits...

I agree. Coming off 3 losing seasons, I think the staff is doing about as well as could be expected. Need a bowl game this year and winning that game would be a huge plus. Seeing improvement IMO will be big for some of the more talented kids. CBJ has got to get this team to a bowl game.

I just don't care what the services rank the class. The only reason I care at all about the class ranking is because IF it is considered top 10-15, there is a good chance ESPN will select Knoxville as one of their "all day" stops on NSD. IMO that is valuable for recruiting and helps the staff start to sell UT for the next class. Other than that 1 thing, If the class was ranked 23rd I would not care. Have to trust the coaches know what they are doing at this point. If they prove otherwise, trust me a lot of folks will join you in your concern.

when i get on volnation and see that there is a new post in the recruiting news thread i get excited. When i open the thread and see that it is a 3*, yes i get disappointed and wonder why he was chosen. It makes me think we wasted a spot and 3*s don't help our rankings and i want to win sec and national championships. The difference between a 3 and 4 is a huge mental difference, it makes me feel warm and happy when a 4 or higher commits and if it's a 3 i really feel let down. I also feel like we are not helping the team get better with 3*s.

Inb4 star gazer
