When will McBee live up to his hype?

What? Doesnt matter its a fact not an opinon that he is going to be on scholarship next season. Why is this so hard to comprehend?
why is it so hard to comprehend that he is not on scholarship this year?

you need to wake up if you think this kid is anything better than mediocre.

If I were in theory a McBee fanboy (which I'm not) why would stating that he was on scholarship do anything but hurt my point? Him being on scholarship does nothing but raise his expectations so how would that help me? McBee is not walkon so he should not be given the "he's a walk on what more do you want excuse" whenever anyone criticizes him.

How many "he is a walk on posts are in this thread"? I think we get it. I just hope that shot against KS doesn't burn us a scholly the next 3 years. I sure hope McRae can play at this level next year and send Skylar back to the scout team where the slow white guys that can't shoot belong.

Yeh, 30% is not just down right pitiful for a true frosh adjusting to a new world. Geez, I can agree he has stuggled. Anyone with eyes can see that. But to say that he somehow hasn't lived up to his hype is a bit premature at the very least. Explain this to me please......If he wasn't hyped enough to receive a scholly offer from major programs(don't know his specific offers off top) just months ago.how has he generated enough hype in his short tenure in orange to underachieve????

I believe he was a walkon only because Bruce ran out of scholarships and he will have one next year Good kid plays hard and did make 3 in Kansas but has alot of good looks but shot will not go in we need him.If Pearl was going to bring Tatum back play him if we are into son ball which we seem to be then enjoy the NIT.

McBee only hit 39.4% of his 3-point attempts during his senior season at Grainger HS, which is pretty decent but nothing special. Anyone expecting him to step in as freshman and shoot lights-out -- with a 3-pt. line a foot farther out and facing the kind of competition he does -- is being foolish.

If for no other reason than to set an example for the others with his tremendous work ethic, I'm glad to have McBee around. But by the time he's a junior he'll be a reliable contributor, IMO.

Where is the deadeye shooter I heard so much about? This kid was supposed to be an unstoppable outside shooter, but he rarely hits open threes. I'm not saying he should hit every three, but I would expect him to be into the high 40%'s.

We need him to be a run stopper and a soul crusher against the other teams.

When he hits a big shot to win or help secure a win against a great opponent. wait.

mike conley only shot 30% before he was the #4 pick in the draft. i just don't think skylar is one and done like mike was... so there should be some time to improve

Who said he was an unstoppable outside shooter? That was not his entire game in high school. He was a good shooter but also took the ball inside the three point line. Good game for Skylar today; 2 three's, good defense and a sweet assist to Chism.

Yessir, he had a great 2nd half. Two big shots and 2 nice drive/dishes.(The chism 1 and another someone kicked out of bounds)

He's 3 of his last 20 from three if he wasn't the white kid golden boy he would never play. That kind of shooting is unacceptable no matter freshman senior walk on or scholarship. He should never see the floor

What a useless post.
