Where are those morons who think Stoops is a good coach still?

I don't get the love fest for Stoops or the love fest of KY fans posting on Volnation.
He's done a fine job but he's had some massive chokes in their best years.....okay.
Take off the first two seasons and he's 58-40..🙄
He should take another P5 job just to show us how great he is.

How much of that is from coming into a crap program? What was his record year 1 and 2? He has some of the biggest wins in UL history and took them to heights they haven’t seen since the bear. Scheduling be damned. You play in the SEC.
Still 30-35 in the SEC if you take off the first two years. Just face it, he’s an average coach at best. Here is a fun fact, Stoops is 0-11 against the West opponent on the road while at Kentucky.

I’ll tell you what he has done. He is 65-57 at Kentucky. He is 32-49 in the SEC. His best record in the SEC is 5-3. Let that sink in, he has a 39% winning percentage in the SEC. Stell me how great a coach he is.
Kentucky is historically 171-399-20 against the current SEC. That's 28%

It's like Pat Fitzgerald at Northwestern, or Cutcliff at Duke, Synder at Kansas State. None of them won anything. But calling them bad coaches for where they are is short sited.

I could see Mark Stoops being a candidate for these head coaching jobs

Auburn
Colorado
Arizona
Arizona State
West Virginia

He’s a good coach. Anyone who can consistently win there is good. This type of season is typical when your kids have unrealistic expectations early. You gotta earn the it. Ky didn’t.

That's a bad loss today, with a beat down coming next week. Will probably be the Liberty Bowl now for KY.

I’m not going to knock Stoops for what he has accomplished historically for KY, I mean it’s KY so expectations aren’t as high. But going from top ten to losing to freaking Vandy at home is embarrassing.

He really should have left last year. That was as bad of a loss as they could have. Recruiting wise that one will relegate them backwards even more

Led UK to the first 10 win season since 1977. First COACH from UK to win coach of the year since 1983. Consecutive bowl appearances. Some schools can’t be measured by championships and UK is one of them. Arguing he has done nothing for UK goes nowhere
Lol still a .500 coach

I feel like he may have talked with a school and has silently agreed to a be their coach. He looks like he has mailed in the rest of the season.
He just received a hefty extension. Who signs up to pay that buyout for the product he provides? Hell, I'm skeptical that Iowa is his final destination after that display

Stoops is getting $9M/year but we have people here who think we shouldn't give Heupel a raise right now. 🤷‍♂️

Give Heupel a raise but paying Stoops 9 million per year is crazy. This year would have been a perfect time to let him shop himself around. If he goes, he goes and you look for a young up and comer. Right now, UK is locked into 2 older, slightly above average coaches in football and basketball.
