I was a UT supporter and supported Dooley right up until the Missouri game where coaching definitely got us beat in the 2nd half. The fake punt in the Vandy game just proved that this coaching staff besides a couple members really didn't know what to do. I will support the team more than I support the coach because I believe these players deserve more than what they have been given. It's gonna be a long offseason, but if the right coach is hired it will be a lot of optimism towards next season and I can't wait. Go Vols.

Because they were never interested in wins or loses! If I heard integrity mentioned once I heard it 1000 times! They wanted to use DD as some kind of self-righteous model for moral superiority that they could take back to their little Sunday school classes to preach religious values.

The reason i like this post is because i know too many people who think just like this. You can't kick every player off the team for being a college kid wanting to have fun just like the other 20,000 college kids they're surrounded by on a weekly basis. If you do, your just not going to win alot of games in the SEC. I know they're going to school for free and all that, but they haven't really earned that money. They were born with a special talent and don't understand what it's like to not be able to run a 4.5 forty yard dash or bench press 400 lbs at 18 yrs old. They still make mistakes growing up like all the rest of us did no matter how many times we were warned. It's part of life. (See Urban Meyer for an example on how to discipline your players)

I was a Dooley supporter also. I liked the things he was doing and his overall plan made sense. Unlike Kiffin, I actually believe Dooley left this place in better shape than when he got here. Just didn't work out.

What was his overall plan? How long was it going to take to implement? Years or decades? And how is your assertion of leaving the place in better shape than when he arrived quantified? Certainly not in SEC wins, nor overall wins either. If he was an improvement on the previous, mediocre Fulmer regime (Kiffin was just a blip on the radar screen), that didn't show up on the bottom line either, hence unemployment.

Eventually common sense kicks you in the face, and for most it came after Mizzou...

Some of the worst play calling I ever saw came from him. He was too much of a gambler. Bring on Jon Gruden!

I bleed Tennessee Orange and I have for 50 years and I will until I die.

I've said many times that I support ALL our coaches, ALL staff members and ALL players as long as they represent my Tennessee Vols.

I'll support the new coaching staff the same way as I always do.

CDD did make our player roster better than what it was when he walked in the door.

He was trying to get the 3-4 Defense going this year to try and give Oregon and Bama much tougher games next year because all smart people know that learning everything about the 3-4 D takes 2 years to perfect but I'm sure he and CSS never dreamed it would be this bad this season and that the kids would take much longer to try and grasp it better.

CDD only got 2 of his recruiting classes on campus and he simply couldn't earn enough wins for the right to ave a 3rd recruiting class get on campus.

He cleaned up our program and cut down the arrests by a wide margin and put a little class and respect back into the Tennessee Vols name.

He tried when others ran away from the challenge and as hard as he tried he just didn't get enough wins so he's gone and all us loyal Tennessee fans move on too and wait to see who our next Head Coach and assistants will be.

We wanted Wins but NOT for CDD or any other coaches but we wanted Wins for our footVol program and our kids and to keep watching our program get better and better until we're a top 10 team most years like we should be.

I'll always support our coaches until they're no longer our coaches just like Saturday I'll support the coaches that are still here for the last game of this season and I'll cheer on our team and hope we pack Neyland to show solid support for our Seniors as well as all the players and coaches like real Vols fans do.

Now lets KICK some kenSucky butts and finish this season with a WIN!!!

VFL...GBO!!!

Some of the biggest Dooley supporters? Some who posted everyday have disappeared. They proved my point that they were Dooley fans and trolls , not UT fans. Thanks for staying away , good riddance. I won't call any by name but we know the main offenders. The Volnation IQ has risen 10 points by you not posting.:salute:

You must be an adolescent! That is the most immature thread I have ever seen on vol-nation! And vol fans don't treat vol fans that way! So you are nothing more than a bully looking for who knows what!

Some people just try to keep things stirred up! As others have said on here, I am a fan of the University of Tennessee, and I support the team, and thought Dooley was doing some good things for the team. I think it all went haywire with the coaching turnover in the off season, especially the pick of Sal for DC. I still had hope until the Missouri game, but that one did me in for Dooley. Stop trying to start something and support the team, okay dude?

There is a big difference between supporting a head coach and defending his moronic decisions. I will always support the coach and hope he wins every game UT plays (unless they play the USAFA). But we had numerous people on this site defending Dooley's absolutely horrible decision making. Now they have disappeared. In closing, support and defend do not mean the same thing.

I was a Dooley supporter untill he was fired. I was a Kiffin supporter until he left. I was a Fulmer supporter until he was fired. I was a Majors supporter..on and on. Bottom line..I don't like losing, but I support UT sports and current staff whomever it may be. Not a fair weather fan. TIFWIW

Reading posts from people who support the coach and see the positives he brings to the program even when there are significant negatives is much more pleasant than reading this kind of high-school bully drivel. You embarrass VolNatíon.

This is how Tennessee fans should answer stupid question. We are Tennessee fans and we support our coaches as long as they are employed by Tennessee. I will support the new coach when he is hired and will do so as long as he remains our coach.

Oh I see. If you disagree or dislike the Coach and pull for the team ANYWAY, even after they go 0-7 in the conference, then you are a bad fan?

Geez.:loco:

Wrong. I will support the coach until he gives me good reason (0-7 in the SEC, losing to UK and Vandy) not to support him. At which time, I will probably call for his head. I will CONTINUE to support the Vols, as long as I live.

Spot on!

Keeping a loser and supporting him is equal to undermining the program. It's not so hard to understand. Supporting failure in whatever form is not good for the program.

-----

"Hey look our coach is running the program off a cliff."

"Should we stop him?"

"Nope let's follow him and call everyone who doesn't join us negative."

"Derp derp derp..."

"Splat"

The End. :hi:

A person that seriously thinks that there were more trolls pretending to be Dooley supporters than trolls acting as Negavols over the last few months really is a fool.

I was honestly shocked at the Dooley hire. He did try, but he was in over his head from day one .

Someone will respond to you by saying, "Who else was Tennessee going to hire?" i've seen this a thousand times on VN. Fact is, Mike Hamilton made HORRIBLE personnel decisions. Why would this one be any different? Now someone will respond to me by mentioning all the new facilities and buildings he ushered in. I will tell them that his HORRIBLE DECISION MAKING made it difficult to pay fir those upgrades in 2012 and on.
