Where Coke Tastes So Good

The Mexican ones use real sugar instead of high fructose.

I agree about the glass bottle being best. I even prefer a can over plastic. In fact I never buy coke in a plastic bottle.

As for fountain drinks... coke suggest only filling the cup with 2/3 ice for the optimal experience.

And fun fact... those fancy new fountain machines that add all the funky flavors was designed by the same guy who invented the Segway. It was a joint partnership he made with coke in exchange for helping him distribute his water distilling machines to remote parts of the world.

Coca-Cola Freestyle machines. Those things suck so bad! They are only good if you actually want flavors mixed into your drinks. If you just want a regular coke then you better skip it because it doesn't taste right at all out of those machines.

Got a Coke from McDonalds today because this thread had me craving one all week.

This reminds me of my grand dad who lived in Old Hickory and loved Coca-Cola out of a bottle. On the day that the radical formula change was announced in April of 1985 he went down to his local Piggly Wiggly and bought every bottled six pack they had and kept them in the basement drinking one a day until they were gone. That change was like a death in the family to him. LOL.

I grew up like a mile away from that Piggly Wiggly. It's still there.

I only buy Mexican Coke at the store, if I'm going to drink one. Ain't nothing like the pure taste of real sugar.

Years ago, the best tasting cokes were at Neyland stadium. I should know because I used to sell them.

Seems like all the stands I've been to were plastic bottles and the ones that work the seats have the bottles too.

They've never stopped selling fountain drinks at Neyland. It's how they fill their souvenir cups.

Coke tastes best when it has real sugar and not high fructose corn syrup

So true.

Best was from a drug store soda fountain where they turned up the syrup over the recommended syrup/carbonated water ratio a little. But too high=>too sweet ... I worked places we'd tinker with the syrup knob until it was perfect based on customers "oh wow!" factor 👅

Ice is for suckers. I never put it in a fountain drink at a fast food place.

Mexican Coke tastes a little flatter to me, but I like it.

You'll notice in Mexican restaurants that the soft drinks are sweeter and less fizzy. This is, so I'm told, because they mix them heavier on syrup and lighter on carbonation. For me, you can't beat a Dr. Pepper at a Mexican restaurant.
