How bad do you think that this terrible blowout loss and the arrests will affect recruiting this year? Do you guys think we still land a top 5 class?

Also, how long before we are back to a 10 win team? 2011? or 2012?

Very little. Might actually demonstrate for the elite linebacker prospects how much they are needed.

Look we have great recruiters and dont forget that the season ends a pretty good time before NSD and most games are forgot about in a few weeks...This staff will recruit their ass off when this season ends and they will bring the passion these recruits want to hear...and we will land a great class...

The offfield incidents will only play in effect with other coaches talking bad about what happened but Kiffin squashed that today before the game talking about going an entire year and this is the first incident.

These guys in high school want to play and we have plenty of opportunity for them...We just have to keep faith with Kiffin and we will prospure when its our time...This staff has done a great job all year and next year they will be way more prepared because they know what they got now...My only hope is that Monte spends some time working on the Spread and comes up with something amazing....

I don't think the arrests will have much effect, because every school has them. I'm sure our staff will bring that up to any mothers worried about their boys.
As far as the loss, what offensive linemen wouldn't look at our players and depth chart and say that UT needs help. Our defense has more holes in it than a shotgun target. LB and safety should be a hugh priority, and UT will close very well there.

Tennessee never looked in it. Crompton had a nice stretch of throws and scramble decisions where he looked really good. But he had some errant throws and the 4th down throw behind an open Moore was big.

But in the end, a backup FS, 3rd string Mike, thin thin depth showed. The off field incident hurt ALOT. Tennesse did not play like they were focused at all.

From a recruiting standpoint, the game doesnt hurt. It shows how much we need guys like Chaz Green, Jeff Luc, Jeff Elam, etc.

One other thing i forgot. . the Vols play at offensive center was very poor. As was the kicking game with e exception of Oku.

I don't think this game and the arrests will affect recruiting that much. They're both embarassing, but they don't change the coaching staff's resolve to restore Tennessee to national prominence. We have the tradition, facilities and coaching staff to recruit with the best teams in the country. We'll be fine.

Also, I think 2012 is the earliest we have a shot for 10 wins. Our O-line and QB will take some lumps next year.

Do we have to start a thread like this every week? Any recruit who's worth a crap isn't going to drop us from consideration over one bad game.

If it was all about wiether we won this week, or last week, or next week, we would be 40th in the recruiting rankings.

And the likes of TCU, UTAH, Boise ST, Cincy, and even KY would be ahead of us in recruiting.

We are not selling, a top 5 program right now. hasn't stopped us from pulling high prospects yet.

one way it could affect it is for the coach to unleash a "silent" recruit to fire up the fans again. A high profile commitment would be good medicine right now for an ill Vol Nation.,

That loss RUINED my weekend and week too probably. This staff will have the ship righted in time for KY, and our bowl opponent. Vandy will be just what the Dr. Ordered.

These games happen. I doubt anyone is concerned what USC (the real one out west) will lose out on recruits because of today's game. It's amazing how something so bad can turn into a helpful piece for recruiting - "Early PT".
