Retraction: I guess I am NOT pro-choice on abortion. To clarify my stance, I just think sometimes it is an alternative for rape victims, etc. Terminating a life for the convenience of the mother (or father) goes against my beliefs. After all, if the truth was known, most of us were "accidents". I know I was.

In addition, I'd like to offer my extemist view on gun control. The only way a gun can kill a person is if it falls off a shelf and hits it's victim in the head. Guns don't kill, bullets do. So don't worry about the guns, control the damn bullets.

Foreign Aid: Charity starts at home. Who came rushing to our aid after Katrina?

Without addressing most of what you're saying, it is worth noting that many of the countries around the world did provide aid to us after Katrina, mostly in the form of oil, but also cash donations to the red cross and the like as well. I believe even Sri Lanka, a country racked by political instability and poverty, came up with a few million for us ( a lot for them). So in answer to your question: lots of countries came to our aid.

Oh, in the form of oil, huh. So how come I paid $3.54 a gallon for gas from all this "free" oil so generously contributed? And what happened to the cash donations to the Red Cross? Not the best place to send money if you want to help disaster victims. Too much "administration" expense with that group.

Err, I don't think the oil was free, but $3.54 or whatever has to be preferable to not having any gas at all. . . or not, depending on your point of view.

At least our fellow nations of the world tried, our bungling ineptness at making good use of their aid is another subject entirely.
