Where do you stand?

Fair enough. If it's solely the DC piece. Based on that instance I don't believe my gun rights will be impacted.
God forbid you try to stand for anyone else's gun rights...

You should probably vote on principles, not on what is going to be good for you.

To a certain extent, not at all. The warriors that are going to defend your rights, privileges, and the rest of what you take for granted every day of your life, are probably more inclined to actually get in a physical fight every now and then.

If you think a conviction for assault should take the weapons out of their hands for the rest of their lives, then you are going to have to rely on a bunch of poor shots with little to no combat experience if, God forbid, the day ever comes where we, as a people, have to rise up against a tyrannical government.

God Bless America!

The biggest issues I have in the election are foreign policy, domestic economy, and healthcare. I plan to vote for the candidate that I agree with most on those issues. Gun control is huge afterthought.

This could get ugly.

I plead guilty to an ag assault. I used no weapons, I was in a fight that started in a bar. We traded a few good shots and the guy decided he couldn't take me so he pulled out a knife. Between that and the alcohol I lost it, I literally saw red and blacked out.

When I came back to my senses i was on top of the guy, he was knocked out. I left went back in the bar. A couple of officers took me into custody about 15 minutes later. I found out at court this guy had to have his jaw wired shut, had about 35 stitches at various places around his head and he had a broken wrist.

I couldn't prove a knife was present, they charged me with ag assault and I took a plea because I was guilty. I have been clean ever since.

The point of this story is today I work, pay my taxes and contribute to society. If I feel like I need to have a gun to protect my family it is a right I feel I more than deserve today. 8 years ago.....probably not, but today...yes!

Yeah, Bill of Rights issues are usually pretty far down on my list, too....

two points:
1. Never get in a fight with the hulk, I mean KB.
2. There are exceptions to every rule, and you sir certainly quallify.

Precisely why it's down on my list. It's very clearly worded an protected. If I felt threatened, I would move it up the list, but I don't. Maybe I'm missing something, that's why I asked the original question.

If Obama is elected and Reid and Pelosi are left in place, there are several social issues that could change very quickly in directions that we would never have believed. The Right to Bear Arms and Freedom of Religion are two of the first I expect to see attacked.

The same was said about Roe v. Wade when Bush controlled congress. And that was just a court decision.

Are you really affraid of losing Constitutional rights under any President? I think not.

Obama's elction would set up the first consortium that would likely have the power to do so and the stated desire to do so on particular issues. The Constitution will not have to be changed in order for their agenda to proceed. Gun control laws will be amped up and there is a good possibility that portions of accepted Christian doctrine will be labled hate speech because it makes one group or another feel bad about themselves because they are told they are "living in sin" or have a "sinful lifestyle".

McCain/Palin- because a war hero and a lifetime member of the NRA are preferable to a socialist and an idiot.
