Where have all the trolls come from?

This board has gone to hell quite frankly, due to the influx of trolls. There must be >100 posters here now who've arrived just to bash the team and bash Holly in the past few weeks. Half of them have <30 posts, and the other half only have a history of posting in the football forum, plus a handful of people who've dedicated their winter to racking up hundreds of troll-posts. It's impossible to have a discussion about team play before it's derailed by "Holly sucks" posts. Last night's game thread went to hell before the game even started, because the Holly bashing began with post #14 and never stopped.

We get it. You're entitled to your opinion. How about starting a daily "Holly sucks" thread, and letting those of us who want to discuss basketball actually discuss basketball in threads about basketball?

First time poster in this forum: Holly sucks. But who cares.

I'm not a Holly supporter..I'm a "current UT coach supporter" I honestly thought she would be better at X and Os than she has shown..I'd give her one more year(because this could be an outlier) and then try to hire Vic Schaefer

It's interesting how assistant coaches who have been with a legendary coach for 20 or more years struggle in the same program when they get their shot. I can name a few examples off the top of my head.... Mike Hopkins at Syracuse in his brief stint when Boeheim was out. Calder at UNC when Hatchell was out in DD's freshman year. Bill Gutheridge struggled at times at UNC following Dean Smith.

The conventional thinking is that the assistant would just keep rolling with what the head coach did and everything would be the same and winning. Heck, they are spending the majority of their time with the head coach and after all of those years, one would think something rubbed off, right???

It is like life there are life long leaders and there are life long followers. Because you are a good follower does not mean you have the qualifications to lead. One would think that after 30 plus years at the side of one of the best basketball coaches it would be an automatic, however, that ideology just does not hold water. Right now Holly is speedily heading into the fraternity of failed assistant coaches that tried to be a head coach. I think she should have had her chance and she has, however, it appears to be time to cut our loses while the program has not totally bottomed out.

Calder did a good job with Diamond's class. They got to the Elite 8 with a freshmen-led team.

It is a bad thing when a team losing a few games causes a meltdown..There will come a time in your life when something, like a serious illness or death of a loved one, a team barely winning a game is not one of those times. Holly has been as successful as Pat over the last four years, yet gets 10 times the grief.
---
As successful as Pat? Did I miss the final four appearance or the national championship Holly won?

I'm talking men's basketball..both have lost 6 games and spent time outside the top 25

And Duke just beat UNC in Chapel Hill.

When the Lady Vols beat Notre Dame, Baylor, or SC at their place, bring up your analogy again.

Frozen Lviv fan ! The fact that someone has not posted a lot or been on this site very long changes nothing about the aweful job that holly has done with this team! Also all of these resume building accolades that everyone wants to throw out there about holly doesn't matter either ! So what she has been at tennessee for 30 years, or that she played for pat, or that she coached with pat, or that she coached on the Olympic team or that her jersey was retired none of these things mean anything ! What does mean something to me is the lady vol program is about to lose more games in a single season ever and that the lady vols are going to finish in the bottom half of the sEC and that these ladies show no emotion or effort playing for this coach! And that we don't have 1 player in the espn top 100 coming in next year! And all of these negative points are with 7 mcdonalds all Americans on this team , so you can take your longevity on this site and your name calling posters trolls and shove it!! It doesn't mean our opinion doesn't matter or change the fact that holly warlock sucks as a coach and she is driving the lady vol program off in the ditch!!

OP, I have been around for a while...I've seen the good and the bad in Lady Vols basketball. If I am a troll, so be it. I don't like what I see in the game right now. No, I am not going away. I have invested too many years in following this game. Although my opinion is different from yours on how I may display my displeasure in the current coaching staff, I try to stay true to the young ladies who play this game for fun! The current coaching staff makes a salary just like you and I do/did in our employment. If you feel that the current coaching staff is doing a adequate job during this season, fine, continue with them. I on the other hand, do not feel that they are doing the job that I feel is adequate for the monies they are making. In other words, they are being paid way too much for the product they are producing. With that in mind, I would like for them to be removed. I try and let that be known. If my attempts in letting this be known you do not approve of, I am so sorry. You may at anytime block my replies. However I will continue to show my displeasure until this staff is replaced.

The more important question is, where did the Tennseess' lady basketball team go? If we can find them, things are OK; if not the search is on. It will be interesting to see how they play if Russell's injury keeps her out 2-4 games. If they can cut the turnovers in half, they may win the rest of the games. If not, its a crap shoot as to how many they will win.

I don't post in here much, but it's never bashing the team. Always a Go Lady Vols, or such. I was unaware if you usually stuck to football, then you shouldn't be in here😀

I don't like every thread being hi jacked by the fire CHW crowd at all,but that is just my personal opinion,to be honest I avoid a lot of threads just because of all the negativity, the season isn't done yet and the Tournaments are coming up shortly

I don't mind hearing about what CHW and the players are doing wrong, but come on,in every thread ? there is no reason for that

I say support the Lady Vols till the season is over and then worry about it,it has to be affecting recruiting, all the negativity from message boards does get used by the other coaches CHW and staff are recruiting against, all it is doing is making it tougher for them

it is time to be supporting the team, not tearing them down

what's up sly ? :)

Translate the fire Holly crowd:
"I support the Lady Vols when they are winning championships, any other time I will not attend and demand they fire the coach and demean 18 year old kids"

What do you call a person who is a fan of another team but is interested in knowing about the LVBB? But of course corrects the crazy statements made about his team. Is that person a troll or just a misguided WBB fan?

Translate the keep Holly crowd:

Father, why can't we have Final Four teams like Connecticut, Maryland, South Carolina, and Notre Dame?

Because we're settlers son.

I know you've been here for a while, and I've seen enough of your posts to respect your opinions. I think possibly I wasn't clear in my original post. I understand the criticism of CHW, and I respect the right of other posters to express that. What I would ask is that it not be interjected by multiple people, whether long-time fans or merely trolls, into every discussion about basketball, hijacking game threads, recruiting discussions, and the like. That is common courtesy. There are plenty of threads here that focus directly on CHW and related coaching issues.
