What happended ? I know he is freshman and all but pre-season he was looking like he will Cam Sutton 2013 version for us. Haven't seen him in games ..neither any talk of him by coaches or anything like that.

Probably in Knoxville somewhere. Ya know doing what freshman do. At some point, if butch is who we hope he is we can't keep expecting miracles out of freshman. He seems to have all the tools, just needs some time to mature physically and learn the game at this level.

Y'all can make jokes but seriously during fall camp they had this kid pegged as a starter. So I agree with OP what happened? I haven't even heard his name called.

He's played quite a bit.

I was wondering the same thing about Drae Bowles, Justin King, and Riyahd Jones. Same for Weisman, Sanders, and Blair for that matter. I think Sanders and Weisman have played, but not much.

What we saw in preseason workouts was extremely limited. No doubt, Moseley will be a playmaker. He has the speed that can't be taught. His size got better but he is still undersized... Look at him on the sideline. And finally he is very raw. He really needs work on mechanics. I'm happy with how the defense has played and the players used. Look for him to make big contributions next year

Most of those guys, esp. Bowles, were recruited over. Surprised Bowles didn't transfer to smaller FBS school.

He was a Tennessee fan before his recruitment. I'm sure he wants to play and is doing all he can to get to that level, but I'd bet he'd rather be at Tennessee than be a starter anywhere else.

You know there is more than one starting corner, right?

As far as I knew the other starting corner was Coleman. But I really don't know why people make such a big deal about the depth chart. We are in nickel a ton and rotate a ton of players in and out on both sides of the ball. The depth chart matters very little for this team

Keep buying in to that coach speak.

You're right that Coleman is the starter in the non-nickel alignment. But Williams is the CB in the nickel with Moseley as his backup. Moseley has also backed up Sutton. Williams brings elite speed, a little more experience, and size. But Moseley will get there.

Mosely will see plenty of playing time this year and as the last post added he's the nickle coming in. My question is how much do we see TKjr against UGA? He was pulled after a bust against OU and LaDarrell McNeil played more than expected. TKjr has a TON of potential and blew a coverage but still IMHO has a better upside than LaDarrel but I do enjoy LaDarrel's fervor to making a player pay for a gain.

Agreed! Mosley just needs to get his mechanics down. He's a true young DB that still is outside the system but learning every down. His instinct for the ball is right on target and I for one can't wait until the light bulb goes off. His speed alone is a major plus for his upside.

He's played quite a bit. A lot of times if you don't hear a cornerback's name called during a game, then that's a good thing.

On ESPN radio today Brian Griese was commenting on the TN / GA game talking favorably about McNeil calling him a sledge hammer of a safety. Griese though the UT D could prevent GA from running all over us and force Mason to pass them to a victory. His opinion was for a close game.

How can you be in a 2-deep behind a guy who isn't a starter?

You mean he's in the 2-deep behind Sutton.

Ummm William starts there are two cornerbacks and a nickel in certain packages on the field.... Mosley is the back up nickle

Don't know yet. Doug Mathews said on his show that cb is one of our biggest needs right now.
