His family has maintained the California home I understand. Nico’s primary residence has probably been California all along. They’ve been paying the taxes but he’s got like 8-9 dependents. I’m not claiming to be a tax expert but it’s probably not the killer we think it is. All of this is contingent on them filing taxes. Wouldn’t be surprised Nic hasn’t done it.I was just thinking about the tax part of this. that tax rate is BRUTAL.
You can have dual residency. You just to be “able to prove” you live in TN 6 months +1 day to get that tax dodge. His family has maintained the California home I understand. Not only that, he has reportedly hired an agent where he didn't have one before. That is going to cost him between 15-25% of his total NIL package.I have thought for days that UCLA is where he will end up. They have Jack all to surround him though. Gonna be a looooonnnnngggggg season at the Rose Bowl.
UCLA has money. Tons of it. They (and their boosters) just don't spend it on football. I can't really blame them at this point. They keep falling upward just by being in LA. No need to spend big $ to actually be good.
They will end up paying Nico around $1.5 million.
If I was Nico, I would be rather peeved about getting a huge pay cut (plus paying Cali taxes) plus spending 50% of my playing time on my back in the cold? No thanks pops.
