Where is the 2022 offense?

Then don’t give him $2 million per year to come here and be the QB. He enrolled early. He should look much better than he does.
The average SEC QB valuation is 800k to 1M. Nico was, in HS, better than average. It's not like his NIL is outrageous for the SEC these days.

If he's not developing, we know exactly where to look don't we?

Hooker was an experienced journeyman who wasn't afraid to uncork one or two every game.

Nico is a redshirt freshman who hasn't adjusted to the speed of live action against competitive defenses, yet.

Too many excuses. A so called offense genius can get creative and scheme against weaknesses. Where are the quick slants, check downs, whatever that are low risk quick solutions. Up the middle and sideline passes don’t make any sense at all. Just baffling and CJH needs to fix the horrible play calling. Not much different from Pruitts offense at this point.
This. Arkansas doesn’t have an all world offensive line, but they make up for it with creative play calling. That left with Golesh. This has looked like an entirely different offense the last two years. I don’t know what we’re running anymore.

Yes, the line was bad, but there were other times Nico had plenty of time and he’s afraid to throw the ball. If they’re not open by 10 yards he’s scared to throw it. That won’t work.

Finally some sense. Hooker would not have been near as good his Freshman year as he was as a Senior in 22. As far as answer to question Hooker 1st Wright 2nd Hyatt 3rd and combo of Keyton Tillman 4th. That's my answer. In CHRIST Alone

I know we don't have Hooker or Hyatt, but what is so different about our offense this year? I think after a year with Milton, a lot of us expected the 2022 look to be back. I'm not seeing it (outside of the UTC and Kent State games).

We have Nico a 5* QB, we have a good WR group, is the offensive line off that much compared to 2022 that we don't have enough time to get open and for Nico to throw deep or the middle of the field more often? Did Hooker just have more confidence being older and having played in more games? Did Heupel and Golesh just trust Hooker more? What are your thoughts?

The 2022 offense left with Golesh and Jalin Hyatt's vertical speed has not been replaced.

Most of it is in New York, and quite a bit of it is in Detroit.

Were the receivers not open, or was it too little time to throw? I didn't ever see any receivers open when the pocket was collapsing. Was Nico that hurried, or was it the WRs not getting to any daylight.
I have watched some film on youtube and I don't see the WRs running the same routes that worked so well in 22.

I swear it felt like a Johnny Majors team dropping one to an ACC team for no obvious reason.

That’s what I’m wondering about. Why can’t we get open like in 2022. It wasn’t all Hyatt. We blamed Milton for a lot last year but at least he took some shots even though he usually overthrew them.

Good questions that need to be asked of specific coaches.

More questions:

What specifically are you doing this week to eliminate our self-inflicted penalties? Are the repeat offenders running stairs and laps this week? Are they benched? If they make the same stupid-mistake penalties in this game, will they be immediately benched? If not, why not?

How deep into our OL depth are you ready to go? How many times will our tackles have to get beaten this game before you bench them and replace them?

How many times will our WRs fail to get separation before you bench them and try the next guy?

How many time will our DBs and safeties get burned before you bench them and replace them?

Personally, and for the first time since Heup has been here, I think I might be getting kind of tired of nice-guy coaching. Thinking it might be time for some old-school “you don’t do your job and you will be riding the bench” motivation.

Yeah, I know…”but they’ll just hit the portal!”
Fine with me. If they can’t take hard coaching to become champions, good riddance.

Maybe I need to rewatch the game but watching it live I didn’t feel like our OL was getting whipped. Nico just isn’t getting rid of the ball quick enough. I don’t know if that’s because nobody is open or what but no OL can block for as long as Nico asks our guys to block.

People blaming nico and hes def part of it due to inexperience but the offensive play calling is garbage and i think the coaching staff has told him to not scramble/take hits which is messing with his decision making. it has been like this the past 2 years.

We literally run 3 plays all game, run up the middle, Screen pass to Squirrel White and Play-Action-go routes. Wheres the Qb designed runs? Shovel/Speed options, HB screens, Slant routes, TE pop passes? Outside runs?

Why are we still running this same recieving group that cant get seperation? Wheres Leacock, Matthews, and Staley?

He better take the training wheels off against florida and let Nico go all out the rest of the season. OL be damned. If youre a master offensive coach you should be able to scheme around a bad OL.

If we lose this weekend alot of people are gonna start getting tired of this coaching staff. Fans and players included.
