So far, all Kiffin has done is get Gordon and secure a few re-commitments. He has lost Giles, we lost Herbert to Florida today which is big considering our lack of depth at DT, and we are going to end up losing Stokes. Not to mention the kids he said no thanks to.

What exactly has he done?

What's all this "we" talk? Aren't you a Vanderbilt fan?

Recruiting is about building relationships. He has had less than 2 weeks while other coaches have had over a year. If he doesn't sign a top ranked class next year, then complain.

Seriously. He was hired almost two weeks ago. I can't believe he doesn't have a top 5 class yet.

I'm not complaining about not having a top class, I'm complaining about losing kids who already decided they want to go to school at UT

We have not lost Stokes and Herbert was just about soft before the Fulmer fire. Most teams lose a lot of recruits with a coaching change. He has added some and last some. All in all he looks good at what he is doing. Keeping players on O right now is a tough sell when we did not move the ball at all last year. The Herbert loss is upsetting but not the end of the world. He was not a game changer but a need right now. Hughes is still coming is he not?

he declined his visit to knoxville after going to florida last week. As far as you bashing him, all these coaches have had 4 years to have a relationship with these kids, he has had 2 weeks. Why don't you give him a year or 2 before you say the kid can't recruit. I don't guess bruce pearl could either since tyler decommited and he told the dodson kid he couldn't fit in. Please give him time before all the bashing

We've lost one, Herbert. When Kiffin took over, Giles was leaning heavily to usclite. Kiffin actually made up ground with Giles.

Hughes is coming, but I think Herbert is better.

yeah i found the info.... we all need to remember and understand that this isn't Kiffin's recruiting class. Next year will be his first true recruiting class. Whatever happens this time around should have no effect on how we as fans look at Kiffin and his recruiting abilities. Right now it's about him getting his name out there to highschool players around the nation, and as well as their head coaches.

Herbert has two years to play. He's been offered by a team that just won it's conference and is in the National Championship for the second time in three years. He's also been offered by a team that couldn't make a bowl game and has lost to Herbert's other suitor 4 years in a row.

It is a little early to expect a top 10 class... but I do see the point of the thread... He is supposedly the best thing to come to UT since they started serving sliced bread.. You would think that he could at least keep the ones we had... To be honest I'm not sure he is a better recruiter than Fulmer though... I think PF was one of the best in the bussiness at recruiting.... Maybe we are expecting to much from Kiffin, hopefully he can make it up with the coaching side of it....

I think some of you are being a little unrealistic with Kiffin's so called under achieving recruiting right now. You have to realize we just lost a coach that has been here for 17 years. Philip Fulmer was known as one of the best recruiters in college football. If I'm a senior who was looking or committed to Tenn. and Fulmer was let go, you can be sure that it would make me want to look around or change my mind on where I want to play football. So many uncertainties with our team and staff. You can't blame Kiffin for that. Just give him time, relax, and everything will work itself out. Just like Kiffin said, "it's going to take time." Lets give him his time.

OMG I cannot believe it isn't Christmas already, so much for this Jesus guy, why can't he have brought Christmas to us sooner? So much for being an expert messiah
