Where Were You March 3 1979?

Almost 9 yrs old. Listened to most all of the games on the radio...playing nerf basketball(with a rolled up thermal sock) on a homemade metal coat-hanger rim that was pressed between the door and door frame. Surely I wasn’t the only one to do this? Lol

Do not remember this particular game however..

At Sam and Andy's, I usually went with a hoagie on dark. But in the game room/deli inside Shelborne Towers right outside Horizon's, for some reason, I always went a turkey and cheddar on white.

I loved living on campus. If there wasn't anything happening down on The Strip, you could usually find something interesting to do at Horizons or Hymies. If not, a short drive down Alcoa Hwy to Uncle Sam's was in order.

My Sam and Andy’s go to was Roast Beef w/ Smoked Cheddar on dark with mayo and mustard. I lived in Fort Sanders so pretty much everything was in walking distance, or at least stumbling distance. Didn’t frequent Uncle Sam’s that much as I didn’t really care to traverse “l’ll Kill Ya” highway.

I preferred the Hymies (“Slymies”) space better when it was the Maltese Falcon selling pitchers of Hurricanes.
I was in my "apartment" at Andy Holt. I preferred the Falcon over Hymies, too. If I'm remembering right, they tried to open a Maltese Falcon down closer to the strip, but it didn't last long. I think it was BD's Deli next to the Falcon in Shelbourne Towers, where I spent many late nights waiting in line for a pastrami and smoked cheddar on dark.
