Where will dooley coach now?

1. Not sure he had the choice.
2. If I got fired, I'm not going in to work.
3. As much hatred as has been shown, why would he risk being the target of that hatred?
4. Give it a break. He is GONE!

He declined to coach because he wanted it to be all about the seniors. With him still coaching.... you would still be *****ing!! IMO he did the right thing!!

He is gone, new thread!!

CDD, out of coaching now. He has signed up for an account on VN. He told Freak that he is gonna eat sammiches and drink beer and be a prolific poster here. Freak is excited and has CDD in training in the Zone...getting tutored properly.

That would be awesome. I fully support it.

Yeah, we'll see about all that.

It's funny to see some posts on here. Not to be smart, but to put things in context, Derek Dooley has had a very profound career. He has his law degree from UVA, and he has been a head coach at a SEC school. How many people can say that?

It's funny to see some ignorant minds throw stupid rocks of insults, I know only to get a laugh. However, if you look at the things he's done in his life, they are extremely impressive.

Just a thought before some people write idiotic comments.

Far from a Dooley supporter, never really have been. But, he is a high character man, and he has taught these players how to be better men. I'd much rather have that than to have another Kiffin, who recruited thugs.

Now let's go get Coach Gruden. #VFL

Who or why would anybody want him .Maybe somebody might be desparate for a Asst. coach. Main thing he has our 5 mil over what 3 years not to bad a going away present.

You can't deny the dude has got a brain. Looking at his credentials, he's got back up plan after back up plan after back up plan.

Couple that with the fact that, financially, he could live the rest of his life pretty comfortably without ever working again, I'd say he'd be happy just about anywhere.

The low expectation thing is going to be a must for him. He looks like he's aged about 15 years in the 3 years he's been here.

It don't even matter. I don't think he'll ever coach at a high level again though. Probably not even at a LA Tech level.

I totally agree. I'm thinking it was a good thing it ended for him here when it did. The differences between the Derek Dooley in 2010 and the Derek Dooley in 2012 are striking. It might have just been the angle, but he looked awful in the shot of him walking off the field after Vandy--face taut and everything. I can't even imagine having to deal with that kind of uphill struggle for 3 years . I hope he relaxes and enjoys his time with his family right now and gets a job with more breathing room in the future.

He will sit at home and ponder how great he could have been if herschel walker was born 30 years later and went to Tennessee.

Then, he will live out his remaining years waiting to be invited to knoxville as Tennessee celebrates "Derek Dooley Day"
