Very tough. Pruitt, Dooley, and Heupel all came in a fire storm of negative press and general angst around the program.
I voted Heupel because the fire storm he inherited stemmed from a very real NCAA investigation that was only just beginning. Also, the state of the roster was probably worse than any of the others.
So obviously impressive what he's done in spite of that. Although, to his advantage:
1. Heupel had the benefit of the portal to quickly turn a roster over that his predecessors did not.
2. Heupel had a top tier AD behind him, where the three before him had clowns and buffoons.

Kind of funny to see Butch ahead of Pruitt. I'll say this: No one worked harder to convince the fans that they inherited a no good terrible team than Butch. Pruitt walked that line but no one consistently laid down excuses year in and out like Buchold. I can appreciate that the fans understand Heupel's situation because he truly never played that game in that first year.
