Both quarterbacks did look bad yesterday, but also please remember its a team sport and WR were ghosts yesterday. Our only experienced receiver Dallas Vincent wasn't anywhere, who knows if any of the RS freshmen or true freshmen were running correct routes? Does any receiver have the ability to break containment and get open? Personally I didn't see anything from WR's yesterday. Ease back on the QBs and remember there is more there than we know.

Chose option #3, the next Johnny Football just might be wearing Tennessee orange. These are exciting times.

There are some geniuses on here who want to start a raw freshman who is still in HS, who hasn't practiced, who hasn't played in the SEC and anoint him as the starter. I am just glad there is a coaching staff who will determine the starter and not the armchair geniuses on this board. Let the brilliance shine through.

As bad as they looked (with a depleted WR core and a super vanilla O) a freshman is going to look worse.

That's what Johnny Football did and the mold wasn't broken after he was made. CBJ and coach Jake will put the best qb on the field , regardless of class.

I think Worley looked more comfortable and checked his reads a little better, but Peterman showed that he would be able to make plays out of nothing. I feel like this is going to be a year were we see a QB transition at some point mid-season if Peterman can get comfortable and manage the offense better.

I really hope we don't need to rely on a true frosh QB.

My vote is Worley, he looked more comfortable. I would've liked to see Peterman on a few of those runs, but I also think he's looking to run too much.

Johnny Football was a Redshirt Freshmen. So he had an extra year to prepare, and develope into an SEC QB. Dobbs and Ferguson will have about 2-3 months to learn a system and bulk up to the level of an SEC QB. The odds are not in their favor, but if one of them happens to be the better option then I trust coach Jones will make that decision.

Comparing people to Johnny Football is kind of unfare. I like Peterman only because he has more upside in my opinion. JMO. He's more mobile and looked better with the 1's than Worley did. The zone read isn't much of a threat without a running QB. Worley looks better as a passer but he's also the product of Chaney's downfield passing offense the past 2 years. Dobb's may have a good shot, but who really knows at this time.

SN: i wouldn't be suprised if Worley starts the season though.

I wouldn't judge so much because our top receivers were injured so the timing/execution might have been off a bit. However, they both need to step it up. Hopefully with the summer, it will help everyone ease into the system and get on the same page.

Worley handles the unit a bit more comfortably than Peterman, but Peterman looks likes he's got more talent. Either way our offense could be a problem....again.

I don't think I'd mind seeing a freshman starter. I think Josh Dobbs could probably do it. I'd also like to see UT have a QB that's not just a pocket passer, but someone who can also run.

Other than acedemic status isn't Worley in a way a freshman? As they all are in a way. Gimme the QB who can read defenses, call protections at the line and find a receiver after a checkdown whatever class he's in. One benefit of starting a freshman QB is he doesnt know he's behind, he's just and athlete competing.

Dobbs will be the starting QB by week 3. Butch knows that there is a need to win immediately and he will prove to the 2014 recruiting class that if they are the best player at their position, they will play. Dobbs will come in and play circles around Peterman and Worley.

Considering that you haven't posted in this thread other than your snide remark about my opinion, I'm going to assume that you haven't made up your mind about who your starter would be?

Peterman or Worley will step up this summer. I think its going to be Nate, but who knows at this point.
