if bates tackles like his dad did, it might not be a bad thing if he goes somewhere else.
bates was good at making tackles except the one time they tend to show the play over and over to make it look like he missed alot but just when walker ran over him

Tennessee did not offer either of his brothers if I remember correctly so he might be ticked over that but I read somewhere that he said if Tennessee did offer that that would be a game changer. They did offer so I think Bates ends up in Knoxville.

We should be careful about who we bash or say isn't coming. Recruits could be reading this too. Just sayin

You are so right. I do not know why people get on here and bash a recruit that we might get. And you know they do read message boards to see how the fans react to things.

JMO, but UT's current situation may well benefit legacy recruiting. UT football is at an extreme low. The last few years we've been a complete joke. These young men have the chance to come here and rebuild their fathers' alma mater back to greatness. I could see that as a draw.

An early nominee for Stupidest Post OTY. A real gem.

Yep agreed what a DipS^%$ of a post. Bates was awesome and had a helluva an NFL career as well.

Bill Bates made a career out of tackling for pay on Sundays? If his son can match pops, we need to keep our fingers crossed. And by the way, Bill Bates is not the only person Herschel Walker ever ran over ... it just happens to be a popular highlight. Bad thing if any of them choose someone else with the momentum we currently have.

Well, it seems as if all bill bates is remembered for is being ran over by Herschel. Which is embarrassing and inexcusable.

If I remember correctly, I saw Herschel run over a lot of people during his college career. One play doesn't make a break a player.

Bates went on to have a great pro career. You don't do that not being able to tackle.
