While the bad loss to MSU will not drop the Vols below a #2 seed.

We won the tournament 2 years ago and it changed nothing. TAM was on the bubble and finished 2nd, NIT bound. They have the brackets set before the 1st game starts and only change for automatic bids from non qualifying schools. They could publish the brackets right now.
What in the world makes you think that?

Will be a 2 seed but I am starting to have concerns they won’t get out of the first weekend.

Why in the world would Iowa State be in the east and us in the Midwest? I don't understand that.

We’re higher on the S-curve and Detroit is the closest regional site to Knoxville.

This ... Iowa State's SOS is 46th compared to #4 for TN, Non - conference SOS is 7th for Vols, and 303rd for Iowa State.

Why fret they won’t make it out of the first weekend

A 15 seed with heart and soul with 7 kids that have never been to the dance is scary if we continue to have no offense. When we miss our first shot, confidence is drained from our guys. They become afraid to shoot. Is Barnes working them too hard in practice like normal. Shoot like their legs are gone, but still have their legs to play wicked D. It’s an anomaly what has happened the last couple of games. It actually started at SC game.

From Tennessee's perspective, I would love Lunardi's bracket ... but I'm sure he has a lot of things wrong.
Gawd, I really hope not, but I've posted a few times that the worst possible match up for us is Houston. Once UNC rose in the standings and seed projections, I knew they'd get the nod for the final 1 seed and we'd some how, some way get put in with Houston. We likely won't make it far enough to face them, but that team is MSU and SCjr on steroids. That would be a nightmare game for us. Again tho...I can't imagine seeing us make it that far. Not this roster.

So who thinks getting a bye is a good thing? Didn’t they all lose first round? I think to win basketball games you need to play not watch!

So you say Barnes works them too hard in practice? That's the normal? How many have you watched?

Looking at the bright side—nobody got hurt, and it might make us hungry.

When ZZ hit two threes and mashack was getting hot, I don’t understand putting Dalton back in. I love his confidence, but he was cold all day. As soon as he came back in he launched a long 3, bricked it out of bounds, and the game was over after that.
DK defense struggled. The sideline reported that Mashack verbally informed DK that he needs to do better, that it was a want to mentality. Good to hear that-if it's true. No matter your status/standing-we play defense. If you don't, you don't play. Make your breaks by getting turnovers, transitions and outnumbering the other team on the break

That’s always came up in post season play throughout his career. I’m not in his practices so I do not know. I did ask DJ Jefferson after the Kentucky loss last Saturday what a Barnes practice is really like. DJ said “…on a scale of 1-10, practice is a 12, naw a hundred!”

I really cannot explain how a team that shot so well all season long, for the most part, cannot get ANYTHING to fall now. Layups, put backs, tip ins do not fall. Jump shots rim out or air balls. When Knecht struggles, even with double teams and aggressive defense, something is amiss. Good defense drops the shooting percentage, but we still get plenty of open looks. How do you go ice cold all of the sudden?

I think it's the other way around .... Houston won't make it that far.

Lunardi just put us in #2 in Midwest bracket with Purdue. Not a good bracket for us IMO.

I don’t care what #1 seed is in TN’s regional. If they make it to the regional final then any success after that isn’t expected anyway. The matchups versus all of the lower seeded opponents are what’s critical.

It happens in this game. Not uncommon
