I'm not averse to trying a good brandy/cognac/armagnac. I've never had a really good one, but i've liked the $20 stuff I tried. This one is a $50 bottle. Delord has a 25 year that's only $75.

Got this as a gift earlier this week and cracked it tonight. You weren't kidding, it's awesome!I am also partial to wheated bourbons. I’d drink a Makers before most any expensive offering. Having said that have you tried Old Elk wheated bourbon?! OMG! Tried some today. Totally changed my mind on bourbons. The best bourbon I have ever had. Maybe best whisky period. That I have tried. I didn’t think any whiskey could be termed smooth, but this one is velvet. And has that good sweet side of being wheated. It’s a $75 bottle and worth the expense.
Also had some Broken Barrel Stout Cask. Superb. Hits creamy smooth like a stout then bourbons up in a good smooth way.
Just tell him to get you the 18yr sherry cask next year to make up for it.Got this as a gift yesterday. I generally think their stuff is a little over priced, and seldom go to our local store front of theirs. This did turn out to be a pretty decent sipper. I was mentally prepared to pretend it was good on first sip, but wasn't necessary. Obviously it's not a top shelf bourbon, but I've had way worse. Was not off putting in any way. Not a bad daily sipper to add to the shelf.

I'm still jealous my son is giving his closest cousin a bottle of The Macallan Classic Cut, and me a bourbon half the price. But, he's only 20, currently a non-drinker of anything alcohol, and knows not what he does. The fact he even thought of this as a gift is plenty good for me.
Took a flyer on a local store recommendation, and this whiskey fared very well in a blind tasting last night.

I like the 1910 OF as well. It's a double oaked. Like a cousin to the Woodford double oak.Wooh wee! She’s running pretty hot. Nice looking bottle and label. I may check that out. If you like a higher proof, Old Forrester 1920 Prohibition is pretty darn smooth at 115 proof. Fought the flu the past couple of days and that 115 proof straight pour just before bedtime helped me out.
It is a little hot on the nose, but surprisingly floral and smooth at the finish. I tasted with a small cube of ice that sat for about a minute.Wooh wee! She’s running pretty hot. Hey, as a doctor... is whiskey/bourbon good for you medically? is it good for a cold/flu/C-19? I only ask because I've stayed well stocked of these items along with Vitamin C/D/zinc and have dodged C-19 and the common flu the past few years. It is a little hot on the nose, but surprisingly floral and smooth at the finish. Used to work for a beverage distributor. Shared a bottle of this with a few of the sales reps. It’s really good stuff.Took a flyer on a local store recommendation, and this whiskey fared very well in a blind tasting last night.

I’m no doctor but alcohol is a natural decongestant. Coupled (in moderation) with other ingredients that provide relief for other symptoms I think it can be. A good hot toddy with tea and honey and lemon and bourbon hits the spot with a bad cold.Hey, as a doctor... is whiskey/bourbon good for you medically? is it good for a cold/flu/C-19? Is Jack Daniels the cure for C-19?
