I generally always have a pocket knife on me. Nothing fancy, just a practical tool. I get reactions from peers or students sometimes when I pull it out to use it for something, as if I just pulled out AK47.

It's just a tool.

Same thing here, same type of reactions. Very odd that people are scared of knives, don't they use them when they sit down for a meal?

Good to see I'm not alone. I tend towards larger folding knives. The favorite is my Spyderco Military Carbon Fiber with BG-42 steel blade. It was a sprint run so only X amount were made, though I can't recall the number. It's big, and the sheeple types get nervous around it, but the CF construction keeps if very light for it's size and I've never regretted having too much blade as opposed to too little. It's an expensive knife though so I'll often carry a Spyderco Endura 4. Still a good size knife but not quite as big and lots cheaper.

If I'm really worried about losing something (cargo pocket of swim trunks, etc) I've got a little Gerber folder.

I've never owned a Kershaw but they have a faithful following. I'll have to give one a go sometime, maybe a Leek or Blur.

i generally just carry a folding razor knife, at work i screw blades up on cables and such, its much easier to replace the razor than sharrpen a knife every few days.

EDC is a Spyderco Dragonfly, small, light and inexpensive. Used to carry a Kershaw Chive. Great knive, but I broke the blade lock twice. Not good with the Speedsafe opening system; it'll definitely put a hitch in your stride...

I have several knife pens.

:)

The one I have that is similar to the one above is great for opening doors. One of my sergeants actually broke the tip off of his to break into doors.

I dont carry any knives, i carry a few box cutters in my purse. The sad part is when I go to work at the grocery store, I always borrow my co-workers cutters.
