People don’t seem to understand that after the east west split the FL game became way more critical than the bama game. FL loss meant Fl had to lose twice for us to win East. We lose to bama and it doesn’t impact East. That caused their game to be most impactful one for 25 plus years. Now, now it probably reverts back to history and would be Alabama again.

This. I know we dominate the Kentucky series in football, but it's the third oldest rivalry in the SEC, only behind Georgia/Auburn and the Egg Bowl. If I was picking just one as an all-sports rival, I would pick Kentucky.
Exactly! Not saying they are a bigger rival than Bama but an old one that doesn’t need to be forgotten

For all 3 major sports, Football, Basketball, and Baseball combined, I would say Florida as they compete with them in all 3 sports. For football our 120 year history says Bama although only the past few years has made the rivalry significant again. For previous 15 years Bama didn’t even think about us kind of like we don’t even think about Ky Vandy.

Auburn was probably 2nd biggest rival in the 80’s in football. We weren’t playing Georgia or Florida much at all in the 80’s. Auburn was the early game and the tone setter, but Bama was still the biggest. GBO

Bama and it is not even close.
We’ve beat them more than anybody else plus we have the longest winning streak against them than anybody else…..

We have been down this road several times on this site. Your opinion on this depends on when you became a vol fan, when you attended the university, if you did, and where you may live or have lived. I grew up in TN, lived in GA, FL and now ironically AL. The particular rival is more personnel for you if have lived amongst the fan bases of any of these 3 schools. It really changes your perspective.

Of their fan bases - worst - GA but Bama is the one I hate losing to the most due to history and when I attended the university.

It's Alabama and it's really not debatable.

Florida (and Georgia) became a rival in the 1990s due to the divisions being split and those programs being good at the time. But The Third Saturday in October has a rich history of well over 100 years.
I would rather lose every other game than lose to Alabubba.

Bama,Florida,Georgia and Auburn are all huge when we play them. Bama is clear biggest but all the above are still big rivals. At different times through history Florida,Georgia and Auburn all have been huge rivalries with some storied matchups. And they will continue into the future, I think Texas and Oklahoma will add some more big rivalries matchups. Tennessee and Texas looks like a natural big rivalry that could come into play. GBO
