Who does Dave Hart ...

Have on speed dial? Surely he doesn’t intend to just sit back and let the Hamilton legacy lead to the demise of his own reputation as UT AD. If today’s game is any indication of things to come, T-B Arena will soon be the most cavernous echo chamber in the entire SEC. Dooley at least has the high-level recruits coming in to give us some glimmer of hope for the football program. So far, Cuonzo hasn’t recruited at a level on par with the football program and losing to the Austin Peays of the world does absolutely nothing to bolster our attraction for blue-ribbon recruits. None of this bodes well for UT’s basketball future. Prior to the season, I had high hopes for Martin and figured there was some nice potential there based on his résumé, but so far I’ve been underwhelmed. Surely there is a cure out there for the Cuon-stipation that’s afflicted our basketball program. Methinks the SEC slate is going to be very ugly. It’s too late for Pat Summitt and Coach K to get together and produce a super coach for our men’s program, so Hart is going to have to grab the bull by the proverbial (basket)balls and get this program on the right track before it sinks completely off the radar. Looks like there’ll be no reason for Vol fans to celebrate Cuonzo this December.

Holy crap less than a year in as coach....you'd be better served watching the grass grow than sports..

Your point would be correct, if we lived in a vacuum and wouldn't look even worse than we did in the fall of last year, while our erstwhile AD was supporting the embattled coach while we were being destroyed in the press and on the court.

Cuonzo can get this team to play hard and compete. He has shown that. Bailing on him right now after one bad game would be shameful and cause even more dissension in the fan base and UTAD. We need a lot less of that.

Yeah, we looked real bad winning the preseason NIT last fall.

how about some realistic expectations, shall we?

A good year for this squad: winning season, NIT bid
Fantastic year: somehow we sneak into the Dance
expected year: 12-14 wins, 6-10 in the conference, an upset or two pulled off.

Close calls vs. Duke, Memphis and Pitt have SERIOUSLY inflated expectations around here.

If UT is stupid enough to do that then I'll never support the basketball program ever again.

Good. We probably don't need you supporting anything UT then. Yeah, our most successful coach ever shouldn't coach here again. You are a fool.

You think Hamilton had some bad hires, research some of the garbage Hart had been involved in.

The team was not very good last year with Harris, Hopson, and Maze. We didnt replace anyone of them with better talent, so lets fire Coach Martin because a bunch of players Pearl wouldn't have won many games with either, isnt winning.

At this pace, if this team wins 6 games in the conference it would be a miracle and a fantastic year.

For the folks who say, "give him time, give him time"..... its Austin freakin Peay. There is plenty of talent there to beat them. This is going to be the rou sportsghest few years as a Vol fan, or at least I hope its just a few years. I believe we could let the football and roundball coaching staffs swap and come out even.

Duke was not really a close call. Duke played down to the competition knowing they could turn it on and blow TN out when ever they wanted. Which is what they did at the end of the game. TN couldn't score when Duke got serious about playing defense. Also little Belmont would have beaten Duke on their own floor except for a prayer that was answered at the buzzer. Purely luck.

Why can't liberals accept responsiblity? Why do they always want to blame their incompetence on someone else. Besides which The Pearl would have won every game this year with this amazing talent. You don't think so. Well that statement makes as much sense as the one you made because no one can say what The Pearl could do with this team, he ain't here anymore.

I am pretty sure this loss falls on Coach Martin and the players first of all. Second, the Pearl part of my comment is about all these people who want him back, he does not need to step on campus as our coach.

If Dave Hart wants to save the BB program he needs to have Phil Knight on speed dial.
