Who does USCw and USCe hire?

East: Sparky Woods Or Brad Scott

West: John Robinson or Paul Hackett

Robinson is 80 and going strong, he is a color analyst for NFL radio games..listened to him the other day and he was really good and entertaining

If I'm the Trojans, I reach out to Art Briles. With the talent that school can pull and his offensive mind, it would be even scarier than Baylor. As far as the Cocks, they have to try Dantonio from MSU

Briles would be like a fish out of water in LA. I see him and Gary Patterson retiring from the schools they are at. Baylor and TCU are schools that build statues in your honor and name stadiums after you...USC is where you go to get fired.

You're delusional if you think Baylor and TCU are on the same planet as USC.

I think he's making the point that they're not.

Either way, Briles is like Petrino to me. He'll win games with the spread, but will never win championships because good defenses will destroy him.

South Carolina should go hard after David Cutcliff.
They won't because of his age, but he would have them back to the point Spurrier did quickly.

Mclwain at Florida has a top ten team in year 1. Georgia with Richt is going to always be a regular top 20ish team. Butch pulls in talent to make UT top 20ish from here on so long as his coaching doesn't get in the way. Fuente has proven he's a better coach than all of these guys so far with what he's done at Memphis, and with a great recruiting area like the Carolinas, on top of a Memphis connection, he'll do extremely well at a school like USCe.

Michigan State didn't do a very good job of stopping them, although they got shredded by OSU and Oregon as well last year.

Baylor won't play anyone worth a damn OOC, so I guess we'll have to wait and see if they make it into the playoff.

So when did $3.9m (Patterson) and $4.2m (Briles) per year plus job security become a delusional idea?

While you're at it, go look at where USC ranked when Pete Carroll was there.

Be sure to let me know if they were ranked pretty high, like maybe #1 in the country.

The only reason USC isn't on that list is that they are a private institution that chooses not to release information on coaching salaries.

You really think they're going too? There's a reason Charlie Strong is at Texas and not Art Briles. $$$

Strong makes more than Briles does....

Do I think they'd want to spend top-10 money on a guy who doesn't recruit well, runs a gimmick offense and has had his morals questioned? No, but they could if they wanted to and have done it before. I doubt they (or Texas) would even have to offer much of a raise, since both are much better jobs than Baylor is.

Not a big enough name for them IMO. Plus I don't think CKK would leave TT unless it was for another (better) TX school.

This is everything wrong about the sport in one sentence. Who gives an ish about a name. Shouldn't the concern be who would do a good job?

The guy is a young, energetic recruiter, who can score and go toe to toe with anyone on the field and the players love him, and he keeps the program out of trouble. Perfect fit. I don't know if he has a family or would want to move or what. I don't know the guy at all, but seems to be a good fit.
