Who hates whom more?

I was born in 86. My first BAD Tennessee football memory was David Palmer getting a 2 point conversion to tie the game in 93. Its the first time I can remember being heartbroken over a football game. To me they are the most important game on the schedule every year.

I think for the vast majority of Bama fans, Auburn is obviously the bigger rivalry. UT hasnt done its part in keeping the series competitive. Hopefully that can turn around moving forward.
Negative. Tennessee vs Alabama, The Third Saturday in October… is the best rivalry in sports

My point is someone else on here was bragging about Fulmer's record against Bama
We had better players than Bama too in that period. We were consistently in the top 5 for recruiting in those years. Bama had good players too, but a couple of ex-Bama players didn't work out as HC. They did win the SEC in 1999. We beat them that year, but they won the West and beat Florida in the SEC title game. Sorry. Franchione also brought a team to Knoxville in 2002 that beat our asses, 34-13. We had a loaded roster at the time

From the 1995 season through the 2008 season, we were 10-4 against Bama.

Just thank God you were too young for the 1990 game.

I have always hated Bama more than any other SEC team because they never played by the same rules as all of the other SEC teams. They are the National Champions of cheating historically. Their coaches were able to get away with it in the SEC but when they went to other schools they were exposed.

You gonna put the TSIO below Auburn-Georgia?!

I would always rate a neutral site split stadium game higher. The Iron Bowl was much better when it was split down the middle in Legion field. Wish we had more games like that.
I knew the TSIO used to be played at Legion, but I didn’t know the Iron Bowl was as well.

I’m going to assume that a large portion of the bama fan base includes bandwagon fans who have no historical context of the TSIO… therefore, we hate them more.

Anyone else around age 28 to 32 believe the top rival as Florida as well? I just never saw Bama the way my dad does and he never saw the Gators the way I do. I see the UF UT rivalry as far more rowdy (like a trailer park fight or domestic violence call) and the rivalry as maybe(?) More hateful, like cain and Abel. I guess for me the stories of piss bottles and fans attacked in Gainesville makes me more against UF, the 90s rivalry games, spurrier, etc. For me it's Joah Kim Noah (spelling?), Bruce pearl era, fulmer vs spurrier, chris leake, Eric Berry, Erik ainge, clausen, etc

we are maybe the most hated among all SEC teams if you made a poll....lol

That might very well be true. We have four fan bases that actively despise us - Bama, UGa, UK, Fla - and five if you want to count Vandy. Bama has us, Auburn, and maybe LSU. UGa has us and Fla, and Fla has UGa and us.

So yeah, we're probably the most hated, and I love it.

The older you are the TN-AL game is the bigger one but when the divisions came along and Bama started dominating us that fan base has different rivals. Although the Tide fans I know here all say they would like for the TN rivalry to get back where it was a big game again. I tell them its coming.
That Bama rivalry was one of the reasons Majors was eased on out.

They left out several other reason to not like Tennessee.

1. Bear Bryant never beat General Neyland. 0-5-2 all time.
2. No other NCAA football team has beaten Alabama more times than Tennessee. And the second team is not even close.
3. Fulmer's record against Alabama is 10-7-1, including a 9-1 record from 1995 unitl 2004.
We also hold the longest win streak against them at 7.
