Who here is still backing our coaching staff?

I disagree.  UF was just the better team tonight.  UT faced a damn good team, coaching staff, and stadium.  Nothing to be ashamed of with the L.  If Fulmer goes 8-5, then they should be called chumps, but not after a single digit loss on the road to the #7 team in the nation, in a rivalry game no less.

I don't know what game you saw or what color glasses you have on but UT gave UF a gift wrapped victory.

Hefney holds onto the ball and UT wins

The famed Meyer Offense stinks

ok the loss sucks, big time. but there are some good things to see in that game...outside of 3rd downs, our defense was awesome! heck, we fumbled gave them great field position numerous times, bothched a field goal and missed a fake punt and we only lost by 11 points to a great team??? If i'm gonna lose i take this loss anyday of the week. now we just need to get back out there and win the rest of them! :gun:
btw, I am also in agreement about our special teams, they have been eroding and we do need one person to lead them. other than that I thought the coaching was great tonight. I liked the fake punt-I wish it had worked but hey at least we tried!

we need to get rid of sanders. sorry but he is useless. he isn't scoring. if the defense is so good, we can take a chance and get an new oc. all sanders does is have riggs fall in the middle or throw lobs up. we need quick strikes up the middle and we also need to run sweeps to the outside. we should be better then we are on offense. also we need one qb and stick with whoever it is. al that should help the offense imo.

No doubt I want CFP to stay. CRS is not my favorite, for sure, but his game plan wasn't all that bad. The only question I would have for him is why he abandoned the running game.

I agree. Four mistakes cost the game.

If everyone stays home UF probably doesn't score a TD. We will see that play several more times this season.

Field goal rusher is forced one step outside and his doesn't touch the ball.

Fake punt: freshman mistake or called play?

Muffed catch on punt.

How long have we been commenting on our lack of ingenuity on offense, our gaping holes in the secondary and our lackluster special teams? Frankly I am tired of watching our very talented teams not rise to the level of play that the whole nation knows we are capable of. Yes, they are for the most part just young kids doing their best. No one drops a punt on purpose or doesn't stick to their reciever as close as they should in a man formation. However, there is something missing and it was very evident in the FL game last night. I personally do not think the coaching staff prepares the team for the type game that we are presented with. We have the tools to be a national championship contender but without the knowledge of how to use those tools in the best method possible to attain the overall goal, it is always going to be a situation like we saw last night. We will have sporadic successes against great teams and we will probably role into LSU and beat them but without the weekly consistency, we should expect nothing more than what we witnessed last night.

Of course I still back our coaches. Like I could do any better than them? Our guys just didn't execute.

We hear the same.... exact same.... statements after any loss. We lost to a good team. Fulmer & Sanders didn't overthrow deep receivers on the opening play and other deep routes during the game. Neither did they drop the punt, botch the field goal nor miss the tackles and blocks. They were not the receivers who couldn't get open. I support the coaching staff and I think we were up tight against a very good team albeit one that we could have beaten. We didn't win due to mistakes so we just need to suck it up and prepare for the next one. Our defense was magnificent. I doubt Florida will be held to 16 points in any of their remaining games.

Steve Caldwell is the special teams coach, not Trooper.

There was a press release before the UAB game saying TT is now the ST coach.

Yeah Trooper has been the ST coach all year so If we need to rip anyone, take it out on him. Cause the ST lost us this one, no other way to look at it.

Learn from Nebraska's example, fellas.

I was surprised at how little the running game was utilized. In general, I thought the running game had success. The passing game left a little to be desired. Still tho, the fact remains. Everyone needs to chill out. You lost to a top ten team in their home stadium. This doesn't end the season, and it doesn't end NC hopes. We pulled the same brain fart in 03, against the same team, by almost the same score. Even further proving my point is that Florida was ranked lower at the time, and they beat us in Death Valley.

Relax. Plenty of playing to be done yet.

We lost to a hated rival. I don't give a damn whether or not they were top ten, it was at their place, etc. Sure, the Gators took advantage of what we gave them. Did the better team win? I dunno. IMO, it was even. Take away the mistakes that we gave them, and it's still 7-7. But hey, it's over.

I was a big supporter of Sanders last year, but our offense is just not getting it done. Should we score 50 points a game? No, but we should be able to score than 24 points in 2 games.

Grow a set, Phil, get a new coordinator.

and i guess we need a new special teams coach as well. time to fire trooper and sanders.

If trooper coaches special teams, and they performed like they did yesterday, why on earth would you want to promote him?

No reason to fire Trooper over the special teams, he is there for the RB's first, ST's second. What we need is someone who knows something about special teams.

As for Sanders, I have kept my mouth shut about it. My mouth will not remain closed anymore. He has to go. Plain and simple. Tennessee will never be a dominate team or in the hunt with him running our offense. Time for a change.

I think we're pretty much in concensus here, that a spec teams coach is needed in the worst way, and his only responsibility should be spec teams, or at least that should be where 90% of his attention is.

Like I said before, I'd previously defended Sanders, but last night was inexcusable with the talent we have. But part of that was the o-line, and I think a major change is needed there. CPF said this was the best group at o-line ever at UT. With the way they played last night we would have been better off with Carson-Newman's o-line. The play of our line, just like spec teams, has been a slow decline for some time now. We need somebody in there getting those guys fired up, ready to play, and to play smart. And to be ready to play 100% for 4 quarters.

I thought we had time to throw the ball more so early in the game. That is what puzzles me about the whole affair.

Spare us and just leave the UT fan base you bandwagon fans.
