Who is Ainge talking about?

Idk Basilio throws a lot of stuff at the wall but he was right about Cam Clear. Seems to have sources and no issues blabbing about things. The rest of the media, especially TSR really sat on that story.

Has Ainge got any real credibility aside from being a former player and probably knowing some people?

I have a feeling that Ainge thinks it may be Cut and I do not think that would energize or unite the fanbase.

The only name at this point that would unite the fanbase is Gruden.

THIS. This is the only one. I cannot think of anyone else unless it was the General himself. Not Phil, Petrino, Cut, Chavy, or Fisher. No other college coach.

Other college coaches could do a heck of a job here but none would unite the entire fanbase.

Agree. At least before they played a game. I think if somebody like Patterson or Fisher came in and won 8 or 9 games in year one people would get behind them.

Kelly? Carroll? Patterson? Hmmmm

We have a better chance at signing Nick Saban than Chip Kelly.
As for uniting the fan base, I am sure Ainge was referring to those that understand football. Gary Patterson could do that.

I think all those guys have sources and they are just relaying what they hear, same as us. Sometimes they get it and sometimes they don't. No need to blast them when they miss. If they held back and didn't share their gossip, we would rip them for that too. It's just fun, entertainment.

If not Gruden then the only other one I could think of that would unite the fanbase and get them excited would be Butch Davis...I would have no problem with that.

Ainge is smoke screening for Gruden. Ainge was all in on Gruden a few weeks ago and then all of the sudden there is "no chance."

Gruden is the only name that I could see uniting the fans over all. Patterson would be a pretty good hire but wouldn't make everyone happy. Mullen is another that is pretty battle tested and built up a mediocre program into competing.

I wish the Media would stop pushing coach Cut on UT. He hasn't done much as a HC and he wouldn't unite the fanbase....Might make us yawn though.

I remember being a small kid and my dad had got my mom a new tv for christmas. He wrapped it and put it under the tree and told me what it was and not to tell. From that day until christmas morning I remember telling my mom at least 10 times a day that her present wasn't a TV.

Hope this is what Ainge is up to. He's kind of a wild card. I like him but not sure his angle on this.

I'd have a major problem with that...but the AD isn't asking me...and he would unite the fanbase....to go burn down the AD with a heaping pile of mattresses...
