Jack Del Rio had some bad years at Jacksonville, but he also had a few really good ones. On that score, he's better than Saban. I think his big problem was just an abysmal QB situation. Jax still doesn't have that sorted out.
He could be a good one at the collegiate level, and with him being Denver's current DC, that is certainly something we need. I'd give him and Raheem Morris a call. Morris actually was looking very promising as a young HC his first season, then it went south on him last year. Not sure what the root of the problem was, but he could be worth a 2nd chance as a college HC.
Both are defensive minded HC's, and if they could hire a proven OC, then they'd stand a decent chance of winning sooner, rather than later. Should be able to recruit very well. Morris has a Superbowl Ring, so that could go a long way.
