Who is the BEST Coach in CFB today, and why...

1. Saban
2. Harbaugh
3. Peterson
4. Tressel
5. Stoops

This is the order I would go in if hiring for a spot today....

Stoops should be #3 in that ranking.

Nah...Actually almost put Patterson in 5 spot...IMO Petersen is probably the best young coach in CFB...61-5 ain't too bad...Even for the WAC...

And he's undefeated against Stoops:)

Today?

A year ago i would have said saban like everyone else, but come on his coaching job was horrid this year.

Id have to go with Chip Kelly because his offensive scheme is head and shoulders above the rest.

Saban's history speaks for itself. 2 BSC Titles at 2 different schools within 3 years of becoming the HFC. That's insane.

Harbaugh absolutely is #2 due to what he's been able to do at Stanford. STANFORD. If you finish above .500 at a school like that you're considered a good coach. You take them, within 4 years of taking over a school that went 1-11 the previous year and win a BCS game (in convincing fashion no less) and finish in the Top 5 there is no disputing that.

He got outcoached by Les Miles and managed to blow, what.... a 24 point lead against Auburn?

I wouldn't call his coaching job horrid, though. Especially after the shellacking he put on MSU.

Doesnt that make it all the more horrid? Hes got a football team capable of that, and he lost 3 times.

The LSU and AU games saw major coaching issues. But the USC game was lost because Steve Spurrier agreed to sell Stephen Garcia's soul to the devil in exchange for one game of glory.

If Saban was so awful, then I guess Dooley was the football version of Buzz Peterson for losing to him at home by 31.

And if Saban was as bad as you say, I would be embarrassed to give up 4 unanswered touchdowns in the 2nd half.

Would make sense if football was only played for 30 minutes. Remind me again what the score was after 60?

Saban is probably embarrassed by only having 2 national titles and 3 SEC crowns after 9 years in the league. He should be downright ashamed of that 6-1 record against UT after completing both halves of games.

Saban's playing chess. Everyone else is playing checkers. Gary Patterson deserves some love though.

IMO, this new age of coaches have ruined football. Guys like RichRod, Kiffin, and Edsell who simply are just waiting for the next opportunity to come open. Where are the guys like Tressal, Bowden, and Paterno that make a commitment to a university and the student-athlete they ask to come there. If Jim Harbaugh leaves Stanford, he'll be no better than Lane Kiffin in my eyes.

So you view Stanford as a destination job? I sure don't.
