Tony White

He was a good one. I was always a big fan of "The Wizard". I was there the night he dropped 51 on Auburn. [/quote]
Tony White and Fred Jenkins were fun to watch.

Remember when they found some old bone in the locker room and it became their good luck charm? I remember TW yapping about that bone.

Also, there was a classic pic of the TW and FJ in NY for the NIT.

Dyron Nix

Dyron had a monster jam against UF one year at Stokely. I swear he left the ground at the freethrow line.

He definitely had a huge Jeri-curl budget :p

I completely forgot about "the bone". That is classic stuff right there.

If his knees would have held up, he would have achieved NBA greatness.....

I was surprised his back didn't go out from lugging those TV's around

He gave Ray Mears a nervous breakdown.

Seriously, while BK had troubles while at UT he definitely grew out of it and became a solid citizen as well as great player.

I think he was the whitest man I have ever seen.

Tony White could definitely go off. There were games where he was completely unstoppable -- kinda like Chris Jackson (Mahmoud Abdul Rauf) at LSU.

I think he could really take over a game. I don't think we have had anyone who could do that since.

Was Darden or Beamon the one that almost drowned?

I don't remember that.

A couple of others -

Len Kalsmalski (I'm sure I butchered the spelling)

Willie Burton (our only hope the year after Ellis graduated - hit a huge game winner against LSU)

The white guy guard that hit threes and ran down the court with his arms up in the 3 point position all the time (can't remember his name)

I think one of them was fished out of a swimming pool and had to be resuscitated.

I remeber Burton but not the other guy.

I am not sure about the white guard.

How about Gary Carter and the game winner versus American from half court?

Kalsmalski was a Mear's era guy around the time of the Ernie and Bernie show.

Another contender is Howard Wood (I think that's his name). Pushed Ralph Sampson around pretty good in a tournament game.

Here's a bit of trivia for you all.

The Ernie and Bernie show officially came to an end in the 1977 NCAA with a loss to Syracuse.

Jim Boeheim was in his first year as head coach at the Cuse.

Here's a question posed on local talk radio here in K-ville. Would you support putting a patch on the jersey to celebrate the anniversary of the Ernie and Bernie Show?

Absolutely.

Anything that would help us get back to a time where the NCAA was expected (pre-expansion to 64 teams).

From 1976 through 1983 we only failed to make the NCAA 1 time (1978 - first year without E&B)
