who likes Spurrier?

If only he were on the Neyland sideline six times a year. That is the most pleasing scenario for me.

you might remember our backup QB....that would be Blake Mitchell.....the guy that beat UT last year at your place.

Blake Mitchell didnt beat anybody....Turnover by rb in the endzone just like the bama game beat us . I'm tired of you cocks saying ya'll won the game. UT beat UT bottom line!!

I do think Spurrier will have success at South Carolina, but I feel sorry for Camecock fans who think he will win four straight SEC titles again. He won so many titles in the mid-90's because he revolutionized the way teams play offense in the SEC. No one at the time was prepared to stop that kind of passing attack. Now, everyone is.

He himself has admitted that the defenses are much better now. I am not sure he is as ahead of the curve as he once was.

Having said that, he's still a great coach and will win plenty of football games at South Carolina I am sure.

We'll see how much struttin' the gamecocks are doing after the Vols roll into town, it will be a good game but this team is not the self inflicting team that SOS took advantage of last year. As they say this is a whole different ball of wax.

People in South Carolina sure are proud of their Cocks!

They were really proud in 2004, when they went up on us 8-0. Apparently the Vols didn't realize the game had actually started, due mostly to the unimpressive gameday atmosphere at Columbia. Once Fulmer alerted them that the actual game had started over a quarter ago, they roared back to dominate the game. The stadium somehow grew even quieter. I think there was actually negative noise for awhile. Physicists are currently looking into this new phenomenon. They will be onhand Saturday to observe the shocked silence of thousands of gamecocks.

I hope the UT football team expects the Gamecocks to roll over like the UT fans do......that will make for quite a game Saturday. UT may be better than they were last year but USC is also a little better than last year. Ive been reading the paper and Phil has`nt made the brash statements that you people have.....I think your coach is a bit smarter than the people who cheer for him. See you at the game. GO GAMECOCKS.

Gamecocks...couple of quick things. Guess what's going to happen when you get on an opponent's board? Trash talk and over-confidence. I don't think anyone here really believes that SC is going to just rollover. Also, if you want to see over confidence, just go back and check out your own board where I have seen posts that literally talk about how SC will be in Atlanta for the SEC championship...THIS YEAR. Talk about over-confidence. I think SC will be in for a rude awakening over the next 3 weeks. GBO!!!!!

What do you expect from Vols fans? :p

I see the same things from Cock fans on their boards and I expect it from fans.

At least we aren't claiming Ainge should be the Heisman frontrunner with only 4 games under his belt.

wow....do we have a heisman candidate? Maybe I should be more brash in my prediction....Are we expected to be in atlanta for the championship? wow. yes, I have to agree, thats a little out there, but it sounds good. Its going to be a tough game this week but the last few games have been close....expect the same.

Spurriers drive to win is like none we have seen here at USC. He will not accept being mediocre....and he has what it takes to change that....progress is being made....maybe not fast enough for the man that wants to win them all now. But watch out. He wont enter a game with the idea hes going to lose.

To me, this game boils down to a couple of things...

most important...we have to take care of the ball. If we don't turn the ball over, we will have a chance to win each and every game we play.
Being ready for the unexpected...you know Spurrier's going to have something inserted in the gameplan for us...and with a qb that can run....it could get interesting. SOS has already said that the plan for this game, and really the rest of the season is to keep it on the ground around 35 times and put in the air around 20-25 times...at some point in the game, there will be a situation that presents itslef of some trick play, fake something...and we have to recognize it and play it. it will happen.

Attack their defense. They have yet to play an offense like ours so put 'em on their heels early on...no reason not be aggressive.

Just as last year's undoing for us was penalites and turnovers, if we don't do those things this year, we should win. USC is not going to just line up and beat us. Not without help. Play smart, play fast and play aggressive and we win.

AND the last time UT played South Carolina....YOU LOST. and youre still....just like last year....UT. a loser to SC.

I wouldnt mind beating UT for the next twelve years...that seems a little bit much though....even coach Spurrier is only 8-3 against ol Phil.

Spurrier had better recruits at UF. I have friend that also has your Gamecock optimism. Gotta love how you guys hold on to it through thick and thin.

You all won 1 game in how many years? Sorry, but the trash talking over beating Tennessee during one of their worst seasons is laughable. However you all did win by 1 point. Blind squirrel, acorn...

Blind squirrel, acorn...
That reminds me of a guy we saw at the beach over the summer, he had a tattoo of a squirrel running up one leg (empty handed) and then one going down the other leg with a nut in his paws.
