Who should be allowed to vote?

I believe if you have served in the military you vote no matter what happens afterward. You served and that over rides everything else.

I'm not looking to ensure that all the votes are coming from people who think like me. I'm trying to ensure that the votes are coming from someone who has atleast tried to balance a check book, has some life experience, or has served and already paid more than their fair share.

Land owner, business owner, military, or working and over age 30. Must be one of the above.

if you're black and came into money and land due to your father's death you vote. You own land. If you just got 10 million bucks and you own no land and don't work and your a 35 year old male you dont vote.

IQ is not a color thing. Quit trying to make TP members look racist. We helped elect actual minorities this elction while the DEms asked the guy in FL to step down who was black. I could care less who you are if your working. Kinda hard to own land without a job.

Wow.

Ever heard of a poll tax?

yeah a real large % of this country is some stupid bum living off of inheritance.

No, but it seems to me that if your criteria is: do you own land? And if the answer is no you have to work hard in order to vote, then you are discriminating mightily.

As in, on its face unconstitutionally.

These kind of threads/thoughts and the 18th century mentality they represent is frightening.

The citizenship thing "should" be a no brainer. The fact it isn't only indicates there are too many people that, in fact, have no brains.

The "vote themselves largesse from the public coffers" thing (I think I've got that quote right) is a real concern. Many would argue, with no great dearth of evidence, that a significant number of people are already quite content to continue a status quo that as long as someone else is earning the money they'll gladly take their cut.

this idea is beyond unreasonable.

It would be a poll tax. It only costs like, what, $100 to file for LLC in Tennessee?

Anyone with a $100 could be a business owner. Which means it would only cost about $100 to have the "right to vote."

Just because you have a LLC does mean you have a business. There are fake shields that the government goes through all the time. NO. To have an actual business you have to meet criteria. The LLC just means you are setting up the criteria.

I don't feel that coloreds should vote. Same goes for Papists, sodomists, or snake handlers. And don't get me started on the Hebrews.

I'm not hear to give a lecture on how to not have your corp veil pierced.

I started an LLC in 2006. Filed taxes, bank account, 2 employees.

I'm not seeking advice as to how I should navigate, be it LLC, C or S, like some others on here...

I'm seeking the criteria that is so obviously different from LLC filing as to define a "business."

These criteria are?

Must file at the end of the year as a business. I don't care if your a sole prop and not a corp. if you file as a business you're a business for voting purposes. If we pass a law where you can sell drugs (Orange are you listening) and you become the local dealer and have employees then your a business.

I'm just narroeing down who can vote. Not trying to take it to where their are only 10k voters in america.

I have a question.. Will the people that won't be able to vote have to pay taxes?

The majority of renters in the world do not pay taxes. They are the 30k and under crowds who get everything back at tax time. if they have kids they get it all back plus a nice little check. There are some high end apartments or people who are saving up to buy a home. Those people would probably be over 30 ... and again working ... and again able to vote.

This is hard for you, isn't it?
