Who should win the Heisman

Call me crazy.

I think, for the first time in history, a coach will win the Heisman. I think you all know who I am talking about.

It's through his sheer benevolent and omnipotent football prowess that any of these "Heisman hopefully" can even lace up their cleats.

Ladies and Gentleman, my prediction for the 2006 Heisman Trophy winner::peace2: :peace2: :peace2:

the big question is, does anybody even watch this crap, or care about the heisman? in the last 2 decades this trophy has been a joke. i can't remember watching it since peyton was in it. it goes to the player, who's on the best team that has alright numbers and great players around him. it was suppose to go to the best college football player, now just watch espn they tell ya who will win. the heisman trophy is a joke and has no honor anymore.:bad:

I think they should give it to the player that makes an interception in the OSU - MICH game. Until then, we won't have enough evidence to back it up.

Or, it might be one of MICH's great DEs. Think: they might be so good that the offense has to scheme around it; they cut off half the field; make OSU run and roll out to the other side; this would allow MICH's other defensive players to make plays that could be credited to the DE; he makes one sack just to prove what would happen if they actually dropped back normally; this changes the entire outlook of the game and robs OSU of confidence; MICH's offense gets the added boost and wear's down the OSU defense; and ultimately MICH wins because of one DE and the changes that filtered through to the entire team.

I mean, it's happened before. I'm just being conistent with the award.

You always want people to back up their opinion now it is time to back up yours.

i can't argue with the last 2 years, because they have i believe the right people winning. from around 89 to 03 though most of the people who won the heisman is laughable. jason white, eric crouch, ron dayne { as espn stated a career award.}, charles woodson { the best athlete award}, danny wurfell, eddie george, rashann salaam, charlie ward , gino toretta, ty detmer, andre ware. these are some great names who did not deserve the trophy. even better let's see who didn't win it. starting with 03, fitzgerald, manning, leinert. 01 crouch, grossman, freeny, peppers. 99 great dane, over alexander, vick and brees. the list goes on and on. this year the best college football player in my opinion is calvin johnson of GT. he stands no chance though, because a guy that doesn't have the talent to play on sunday, but has a better team in columbus is going to win it. i guess tee martin should have won it to. that is my reasoning that the award is a joke. i will agree though they did get it right the last 2 years, but the award is tarnished over the last couple of decades.

Troy Smith is going to win it - they might as well have the award presentation on TOSU's campus, and not have to go through the trouble of inviting anyone to New York.

As far as past year's awards, with the possible exception of the last two years, the award has seemed to have gotten away from going to the nation's best player, instead going to the most-hyped player on the best team. Everytime I see Gino Toretta's name, it makes me feel like the Heisman trophy is nothing but a joke - a popularity contest. He wasn't even the best player on his own team, let alone the nation!

And going back to last year, if the voting had taken place after the BCS championship game, then Bush may not have won it, because of the great game Vince Young had while everyone was watching.

The Heisman vote is tabulated by region. If you analyze the voting it is almost always heavy voting for the player from that part of the country. So the vote is always tainted by regional bias. We always think "our guy" is the best.

That being said I really don't care who wins because they never pick the guy I think is deserving.:bad:

People think Manning was robbed because he lost to a player that the media had hyped to win it. Manning had no chance. I wish one of our stat gurus on here would pull up Woodson's stats from his last year and compare them to Mark Jones' stats from his Sr. year here. You will find that Mark Jones stats were just as good, if not better, in most areas.
hamilton got robbed in 1999 he was ecxiting 2 watch

Woodson had 12 receptions, 238 yards and 2 TDs as a WR. An 8.4 PR average with 2 PR TDs. 47 tackes, 5 TFL, 1 sack, 9 PBU, 8 INTs.

Mark Jones had 36 receptions, 556 yards and 5 TDs as a WR. A 15.1 PR average with 1 PR TD. 20 tackles, 3 PBU, 2 INT.

Woodson was better.

Troy didn't do so hot last week and I think that hurt his stock.

look for him to NOT win it if they lose to Michigan.
