I've heard this arguement before in here by different people.

The reality is, Clinton did try to take out Obama. When he did the Republican Congress condemned him for trying to distract the public from the Lewinsky scandal.

You can't have it both ways. You can't criticize him for not doing more, when he got royally criticized by the Republicans at the time when he did bomb his training camps in Afghanistan.

What a weak argument - if fear of criticism from Republicans stopped Clinton from doing what's right then he was a terrible president.

It's not having it both ways at all - do the right thing regardless of politics. I could give a rat's patootey if Congress criticized him.

Doing what you perceive as the right thing regardless of the political cost is Bush's major strength. It's what makes Powell's endorsement of Obama so laughable. Powell is his own tool.

Kennedy bonks Monroe and it's Camelot.
Clinton bonks Lewinsky and it's atrocious infidelity.

And neither matter to me one bit.

It certainly proves that Kennedy was a much smarter man than Clinton....Monroe Vs. Lewinsky is like comparing steak to dog chow...

Too bad going to Iraq wasn't the right thing to do. BTW Powell has more respect now then he did when he served in Bush's administration. Obviously Iraq has shown how sound his advice was.

I agree with the bold above. The fidelity itself should be a non-issue for everyone except him and his wife.

Not exactly. If your boss walks into your office and catches you having relations with a subordinate should you keep your job?
If Clinton were doing this off the clock to prevent distraction from his job, then you could say it is only a concern for Bill and Hillary.

Was that wrong? Should I not have done that? I tell you, I gotta plead ignorence on this thing, because if anyone had said anything to me at all when I first started here that that sort of thing is frowned upon... you know, cause I've worked in a lot of offices, and I tell you, people do that all the time.

(sorry but I had to)

clinton was really great. he basically gave bin ladin the pass to attack us. Bush had to make some tough decision. what tough decisions did bill make. bomb some tents? to use or not to use a cigar? which brand to use?

I won't presume to know if Iraq was a mistake or not. History will be the judge of that. If Powell felt that strongly about going into Iraq and still argued for it to the world, knowing that it would cost American lives, he has no moral fiber to respect. Anyone that would sacrifice lives to keep a political job deserves no respect and those that would respect a man (?) like that are fools.

I wonder if those 9 people who voted for Bush, think Harding was a better President then Roosevelt too.....

yeah, democrats love doing that. Woodrow Wilson, Franklin Roosevelt, Truman and JFK/LBJ are all democrats, all invaded countries that didn't attack the US and have the blood of over 600 thousand US military personnel on their hands.

So W invading Iraq in 2003 is different. Iraw didn't attack us nor were they ever a threat to us.

read what I said and gain some perspective. Tell me how 3000 deaths is more egregious than 600 thousand.
