Who will be Florida's new football coach if Muschamp gets fired after this season?

There's no obvious up and coming hotshot waiting in the wings.

It's gonna be a bumpy ride in Gainesville for the next three months and beyond.

There are plenty of obvious hotshots waiting out there for their break in a Power 5 conference. The problem will be that Florida will be like Texas in the fact they will want instant winning gratification and a big name splash. And in reality it will take some time to build a program to the style of a new coach. But this is something neither the fans nor alumni will be willing to wait for.

Look at the heat Strong is already taking in Texas. He's looking at a potential seven loss season and could sink lower. His honeymoon period ended when the clock struck 00:00 and BYU started celebrating. He has to perform miracles next year to keep the wolves at bay.

He should just come on home after this season. Most of Gator Nation would welcome him with open arms.

Kiffin. He's the only coach I've seen who can lay an egg everywhere he goes and still climb the ladder. I bet if he jumped head first into a barrel full of d1Cks he'd come out with a boob in his mouth.

This was funny

The big money Texas Alums would probably buy him a jet if he would promise to go to Florida:eek:lol:

No one ever accused Texas boosters of being intelligent.

All that cash flowing in Austin, their own TV network, and they've got one national title since 1970.

As I said before, Strong should tell you guys where to go and what to do with yourself. He deserved that job when you hired Muschamp.

And he's in a position now to ride it out. To the tune of a $20 million buyout if they fire him.

Having said all that to say this, I'm glad Florida didn't hire him.

Foley missed his window with Strong and Franklin.

Mullen has a tough gig at State. Too many strong SEC West teams to recruit against. His performance in the win column so far is probably not a good measure of what he has done there.

This is arguably his best team since he's been in Starkville but it may only be the 6th best in the west.

I think Muschamp sticks after this year, but if he did not I would say Dan Mullen would have to say no thanks before they went to Plan B. No coordinator is going to get this job and Foley can't fail with this hire. Mullen is the safe pick.

I think Charlie Strong should've stayed at UL for another season. Of course he had no way of being completely sure, but even when he took the Texas job he had to have known Muschamp probably wouldn't make it through 2014. Strong would've done a great job at Florida IMO.

Do you think the Florida job is better than the Texas job?

If he can't get Mullen, I think George O'Leary would be a good candidate. He's done well for himself at UCF. And even though he's a bit older, he could probably turn the UF program around and maybe start grooming a replacement.

No way. Bobby P would get the job before that clown. He's as bad as Paul Johnson with recruits and parents.
