I'm not sure who it will be, but you gotta believe that they will try hard for stoops. Anyone think they take a chance on muschamp, seeing how Brown signed that new deal?

They will see if they can keep Strong...not sure what he has signed at Louisville. If he is available legally he will be next UF coach. He was the strength of that team anyway in my mind. Their D is just disgusting talented and good. Their O was good to very good under Mullen it was average last year. And they had great talent on O. I am more worried then excited about this. Meyer was not that scary. He was scary when Fulmer was the HC. But fluffy bunny rabbits are scary when porky is your only defense.

Sorry boss, I'm not seeing it. Meyer was an excellent coach who nailed down Florida recruiting, won National Championships and kept us pinned to the mat. Florida will have their pickings of a coach, but they probably can't do much better than Meyer.

I think they make the call to Stoops, but does Florida really have more resources than Oklahoma? I think they are pretty close. The only way he goes to Florida is if he just really wants to coach in the SEC. Whittingham from Utah will be their new coach. He is familiar with Urban's system, and he is probably the best hire for them amongst the small school coaches. He is also a better fit IMO than some of the other names i have heard like Bobby Petrino and any coordiantor people have thrown out.

I keep hearing Gruden, and I don't know why. How could he possibly take any position at UF considering he doesn't need the money and he was a UT graduate assistant, that just doesn't make sense. Somebody enlighten me.

Gruden is not a UT grad.

Consider yourself enlightened. :)

Gruden cannot get out of his espn contract to coach in 2010, he is locked in to mnf.

I think they get Stoops this time. He's got to be a little fed up with what goes on at Oklahoma. He gets them to the national championship game regularly, but then has a year where he goes 7-5 with his best players hurt and people start grumbling.

I just don't see them upgrading over Meyer. He won 2 national title in 5 years, one of them with CJ Leak as his starter.

I agree with you, + its been 10yrs at Oklahoma for Stoops, and Spurrier taught him well. It seems his window there is closing. This would be a career move for him.

If not Stoops, Kyle Wittingham would seem to make sense.

No way petrino takes the job. He is in a better situation at Arkansas. you win 8 games you are a hero. I think they call Chris peterson of Boise and see what he has to say. He runs a gimmick offense like Meyer and he has never had the talent in Idaho that he would have in his back yard at Florida. If Jeremy foley is smart he will try to make sure Meyer isnt taking a LONG break. If indeed it is short term you call Tommy tuberville for a 2 year contract just to hold you over till Urban is reenergized. That being said they probably rush and get an overrated coach.
