you mean the part where they don't give all the electors to the winner, but divide them proportionally?Personally, I wish every state allocated their EC votes like Maine and Nebraska. It would take some type of uniform rules on gerrymandering to make it really work though...

I have always thought that was a much better option. keeps the electors, but gives more representation in a state to the secondary party. would make voting in Red/Blue states mean a lot more.
I agree, the winner in each congressional district gets that elector and the states popular vote winner gets the 2 senator electors.
I also think absentee voting should only be available to people on official govt business outside of their voting precinct, military, federal civilian employees ext. "Election day" should be made election weekend and start on Thursday and run through Sunday. No more month long early voting periods, no more mailed ballots (different than absentee ballots) and very few absentee ballots. If voting is important to you there is no dang reason you can't find a couple hours over 4 days to make it to the pols.
Wait a minute. My mother, God rest her soul, was not expected to make it to Election Day in 2004 and didn't (cancer). She fretted about missing the election. I suggested she vote absentee and get her own personal revenge for 1960 Chicago. I don't think she did, but the thought did brighten her spirits.I also think absentee voting should only be available to people on official govt business outside of their voting precinct, military, federal civilian employees ext. Several states have had issues with chain of custody and ballots missing...why would you want to wait to count votes if that is possible?? Wouldn't you want those on the record ASAP and locked away so they can't be touched..as opposed to having live ballots that can be accessible...The Trump wing of the GOP has steadfastly fought against the counting of mail-in ballots until after voting is closed in key states, including in particular Pennsylvania and Georgia.
Why do this when it virtually guarantees that we will not know who won for days, or even longer, as they count ballots starting after 7 pm on Election Day?
There is only one reason, and that is to give Trump and his cult the chance to undermine the result, to yet again recklessly and without evidence rile the MAGA base up into believing he is being cheated. It sets up to be a very disruptive time in our Democracy.

I agree with the 3rd paragraph...the other stuff is in the fraud thread...First, you do not define "issues with chain of custody and ballots missing."
Second, there is exactly ZERO credible or reliable evidence that any of these "issues" you cite to has meant diddly squat in the presidential election.
Third, the ballots can be counted as they come in and locked away if there needs to be a recount. Just like the other states do. You can eve, as others suggest, do the counting on designated days when its easy for the MAGA conspiracy loons to perch over them and scream bloody murder at a missing staple.
There just is no legitimate reason to cause predictable delays like this and its intentional for Captain Kaos.
looks like we have some non VNPFers voting..no way there are 36 Trump voters from the Pathetic Crowd.
