Now Storm, you've oversimplified things. Per LIO's question, you have to declare whether you want Clausen to be the backup or the starter or the backup who really is a starter even though he wasn't the starter before.

Exactly.

I don't care if you call him the water boy. I want Clausen under center from the first snap on offense to the last snap, as long as neither frosh can play.

I think we should keep Clausen in there. He showed some promise and I think he learned a lot from playing that half of the ND game. Who voted for Vol_Freak?

Man, i am up to two votes now. I'll bet one was LIO so that she could say I voted for myself. I may win this thing yet.

Put me in coach. >> You guys would be begging for Clausen or Leak after that.

C'mon guys, that's just cruel. You are hurting freaky's feelings. Stop voting for him.

FIRST OF ALL, you guys are killing me. I haven't even finished my first cup of coffee this morning and I'm already exhausted. Maybe I'm just easily confused...

Second, wasn't C.J. moved to D due to the fact that he'd be more useful there with two QB's ahead of him? I don't remember anyone touting Rick as being in the hunt for the starting job back in August. With Brent and Erik gone (the pain, the agony!), seems the logical choice is to bring back C.J. -- he's obviously got atheletic ability and has two weeks to prepare for Vandy at "Neyland Nashville" and Kentucky at home. That leaves just shy of a month for the SECCG.

Not bashing the Iceman, part II, but he seems more the type that needs a season of prep work and would be more a "work in progress" than a playmaker off the bench.

My :twocents:

Well, since CJ hasn't played on offense in about 2 months, and Rick did decent in the loss, I'd say they give him the nod... unless CJ shows something in practice I guess.

I voted for iceman 2, I like that :D , he made it real easy for me when he came in and played well. He even threw a TD, oh wait.....

Do you want a quarterback, who when he realizes he's not going to start asks to be moved to another position.... or do you want a qb who waits... and stays ready?

Example being Daryl Dickey in 1985.

Was CJ thinking of himself or the team when he moved positions? If he had stayed at quarterback.... helped the younger guys.... and been ready.... Notre Dame could have been his moment to shine.... and Vanderbilt.... and Kentucky... and the SECCG.

I think Rick Clausen has to be the guy now. Just my :twocents:
