I'm sick of all this "wall street" vs "main street" bs. Why should we care more about the average factory worker making 40K a year than we do the wall street trader making 400K a year? who pays more in taxes? who supports all the unemployed and lazy and dumb people in this country? who spends more money? who buys the goods that the factory worker is making? who is smarter? who is more important to the future of america? I'm sick of this :censored:.

Without the factory worker, the wall street trader wouldn't have a job.

Of course, the reverse argument can also be made.

Yeah....let's hammer the rich!

Do you know what the rich do?

Provide jobs.

Everyone here who is employed by a poor person, raise your hand.

not true. there are way too many rich retired people for that to happen.

What I am getting at is that, in the end, they are of different, but equal importance. One cannot exist without the other.

you do realize unemployment benefits are capped right? the guy making 400K a year isn't getting 200K in unemployment benefits, but he sure is paying a higher % tax rate than the factory worker.

i didn't say the factory worker was useless just not as important as the person making 10 times his income and sure as hell not MORE important.

You do realize that you have to work for a certain period of time to qualify for benefits.

and how is that relavant to this conversation? my unemployment taxes are subsidizing the poor. i could be unemployed every 2 years and still not get back the money i put in.

Maybe in the case of the individual factory worker, but without the class of factory worker, nothing is manufactured. If nothing is manufactured then nothing is sold. If nothing is sold, the company is worthless.

When you work not just the rich everyone pays into the unemployment fund.

So? I pay more than they do. I subsidize them. If I get laid off that means far more to the economy than if a factory worker get laid off.

Once again why you don't get this I have no clue it is about numbers how many people make over 100k a year and how many make less than that now do you get it.

I get it. It's solely about pandering for votes.

Great point. That's what I want in a leader of our land. The one that can distribute wealth the best.

What does America do without a working class? Does it not create an even bigger economic issue?
