So what's up with Washpun? Why aren't we seeing him more? I'd love it, if he could break into the starting lineup at PG and we could move Golden to starting SG. I think the starting lineup would be so much more consistent.

go back and watch the Vol vs gator game. When the gator's pressed his was a turnover waiting to happen. Give him a year or two and he will be really good. He is a good defender and can jump out of the gym. a year of development and coaching and he will be good!

he gives us a great spark but unfortunately he just is raw there is no other way to flip it he is raw. ball handling needs to be worked on, decision making needs worked on, passing needs worked on. more than anything his shot really needs to be worked on as well, when he is out there he is a turnover waiting to happen and just cant provide much offensively. on defense he his a hoss and fun to watch though and for this reason i am very excited about his future here at tennesse. as stated above a year in the gym and working on the things the staff wants he will improve tremendously.

Memphis exposed him as his ball handling skills are not good when teams press him. He'll get better, just a Frosh playing at the D1 level.

even though he hasnt been getting any playing time lately it hasnt stopped him from being into the game. much like jordan mcrae they are very energized on this sidelines and very much into the game, thats always good to see.

I like his intensity but he's no where near ready to play. I don't think we see much more of him this year

i would say washpun, yemi, and obviously miller are guys that we wont see again(barring a new years incident replay). i think mcbee's minutes will start to really dwindle down as well to with stokes increasing his.

Washpun is showing why the majority of his offers came from the Dakotas.

He was a desperation PG pickup that, quite frankly, isn't any good.

He was a need guy. We had to take a PG.

He'll get there. I don't ever see him as a starter here, but an energy guy who will give you 10-15 minutes of solid defense and ability to get to the rim once he improves his ball handling.

yea ive been saying that for awhile but he did something to be in the dog house. he either just isnt busting it like he needs to in practice or isnt buying into the defensive concept. someone else mentioned it he saw the floor for a minute against msu and hedged horribly and allowed an oop, he came right out and was done. that says something.

yea i see it the same way he wont beat out golden, or honestly probably stanton next year. golden's senior year we will have landry learning the position behind him, and when golden leaves id expect landry to slide right into the starting role. that doesnt mean that wes can not be an effective guy to bring off the bench that can just hound the oppositions pg for 10 minutes a game. if he were to transfer i wouldnt lost sleep over it either, we are fine at pg for the next couple years and with the monster '13 class we are looking for we could use that extra scholly, or even better for mitchell this year :)

Not yet.

Plus, I expect the Clemson transfer to come in to backup Golden.

we arent even recruiting one we wont be bringing one in. for starters we dont have a scholarship for one even if we wanted to, if we do get a scholly from something unexpected it will be used to try and get mitchell here. we also have a sophomore pg a freshman pg and a redshirt sophomore walk on pg in stanton. we are pretty full now at pg so i wouldnt be expecting another one until after landry is here.

Stanton is walking on, I believe. If we need scholarships, CCM can find scholarships. It is likely that Miller isn't here next year anyway. Also, Tatum and Woolridge are graduating. There is 3 extra schollys.

If we find a PG (which will be very telling for Washpun) it would definitey be from the JUCO ranks, which usually occurs later in the season.

We aren't full at PG. We only have one true point guard who isn't any good, hence this discussion.

you obviously are completely unaware of the recruits being brought in next year?? yes stanton is walking on correct, ccm cant just pull scholarships out of his a$$ though, as i said IF we are able to get an extra it will go to mitchell as first choice. tatum and woolridge are leaving, d'montre edwards, and derek reese are 2 guys that are already commited so we have no scholarships unless miller leaves.

as far as how many we have next year...golden, wes, and stanton no freshman will come in and beat all 3 out. the following year landry will be here as well and he is supposed to be a stud.
