Why do we pay (Federal) taxes?

Oh don't lie.....

You know u S corped to avoid paying the payroll tax, used the lowest medium salary possible to base your actual w2 pay on, leased your vehicles to write off the entire sports car payment that is under 5500 gvw, write off the SUV as a one time lump, write off your dedicated home office, and then use a sep or simple to stock away everything above 24k in remaining income so that you finish with 0 net income and actually receive a child credit and got a tax return.

Just admit it.

I promise the libs on here will understand lol.

Tell them you made 240k and actually got a 5000 return and it's all legal.

Throw that grenade into this forum.
I need to meet your accountant.

This is my favorite fact about the income tax. It started out targeting the richest, then it spread. Which is why any wealth tax or increased taxes on "just" the higher ups needs to he fought.

As soon as they establish they can, they will.

This is a true statement.

My comment was a little tongue in cheek, but not entirely.
I would say the tongue in cheek portion was probably 10% with the remaining 90% being your true feelings.

To put it simply, you think taxes should be used as a socio-economic tool... not a means for govt revenue.

Its obvious by now that the govt doesn't need our tax money to fund stuff. They can just print that out of thin air.

Most roads are not funded from federal tax money, and I can't think of any good reasons why interstates can't be soley funded by states either.
There is an interesting story about Dulles airport near DC. As I understand it, the airport was built as a replacement for what is now Reagan airport downtown. The federal gubbamint built this beautiful airport out in the country and left it up to the state to build the road from the city out to it. The state procrastinated and procrastinated until finally the fed said, we got this. The state's plan was to get the road built for free, and then to enjoy the subsequent development that would inevitably spring up along the way. Not so fast said the .gov. It is a limited access road, and they allowed few if any exits from basically the beltway all the way to the airport. So the state had to go back and build a frontage road all along that highway. They got the development, but not for free...

Oh, and the limited access highway is a toll road.

At least that was a few years ago.

That is more scary than funny. And probably true.
When they "sanction" individuals from places like Iran or Russia or ISIS, what do you think they are essentially doing? With the SWIFT payment system, they are able to control all dollar denominated transactions and freeze assets. The technology is there, we've just had far too many people in this country championing these sorts of actions not realizing that those very tactics could be used on American citizens.

Can we just give them Monopoly money?
Wait... pretty soon the USD will not be much better.

Really, if you were smart or sinister enough, this would be the perfect time to kill the reparations debate by just printing up $3 trillion. It could serve both as reparations and stimulus.

Trust me even that will not be enough. It’ll never be enough
