Why does it feel like everyone has written us off?

Seriously, in every news source I see, nobody is talking about the Vols even having a shot at the SEC of the CFP. I recognize that the one loss to Florida hurts us, but there are teams with bad losses still being talked about. Just feels like everyone has written us off.

I still believe we have a solid chance to run the table, win the east and who knows what else?

Georgia is very beatable, as is Bama. Our defense has allowed the fewest touchdowns in the SEC and have lived in the backfield of the opposing teams.

We just need Joe and the receivers to start clicking. If that happens, we absolutely can win out.

Why are we not getting talked about?
Maybe because we have not yet put a whole game together and we still have Alabama and Georgia plus an undefeated Missouri. The running game looks real good, but I can say the same thing about out passing game. Hopefully, we break out this Saturday and erase some of the doubt.

Sorry, but I have seen no indication yet that this is a playoff team. I reserve the right to change my mind, but we are gonna have to beat somebody other than the collection of scrubs we've beaten so far before I do. The lack of offensive consistency makes our margin for error much smaller, and given that our QB struggles with decision making makes it even tougher. Winning with defense and the run game could happen, but we need little to no mistakes, and we absolutely have to clean up the dumb procedural penalties. I will be watching every Saturday, win or lose, but as of right now I see an 8 win team.

Playoff teams unusually have dynamic QB's who make plays to win games. Those are the teams that gets the media attention. We have a pedestrian QB that is struggling to complete 2 passes in a row. This weekend may change some minds or end all the this talk.

I enjoy the team being under the radar rite now...remember TCU wasn't talked about this time last year either for playoff.....

UGA, MI, tOSU, FSU, OU, WA, PSU are undefeated. UGA has two Nattys in a row, MI has gone to the playoffs the last 2 years. That gets you talked about.

tOSU, I hate them but they're a MI and PSU win from the CFP unless they lose to one of the cupcakes on their schedule. Penix at WA is absolutely lighting it up right now and having an "I've got something to prove" year.

Coach Heupel's old QB, Dillon Gabriel at OU is right there with Penix. FSU could easily go undefeated after the LSU win.

There's teams out there having really good years, several of them undefeated, and a couple of them with potential Heisman QBs. We've got a loss and we're going to need to take out Alabama to get some buzz going.

If we knock off Bama again we will be the talk of the town. There will enough rat poison to go around for everybody.

I personally love it! Would rather be the hunter, than the one being hunted!! Perfect example last year, when we blew our shot at a CFP berth, as you get everyone's best shot when you are the favorite and expected to win. If we win this one though, the talking heads will start to gain interest for clicks, no doubt.

I think this is a good thing, hopefully keeps the defense motivated and wakes our passing game up.

This year (except for the Florida loss, obviously) kind of reminds me of 1998. One of the best quarterbacks to ever lace them up for Tennessee had just left, and we had a three headed monster at Running back. Two Travis's and a Jamal. I still remember the "Give the Ball To Jamal" t-shirts. Anyone remember how that season turned out?

Because we haven’t stood out and defintiely don’t look like the team last year

However, if we could figure out our passing game and get it going, we could be very dangerous and overall a better balanced team than last year

With the toughest teams ahead of us, it makes me think that our stats are a little inflated compared to other SEC teams.

Eh. Other teams have played cupcakes too. Georgia's played nothing but cupcakes.

What we know for sure is that Texas AM's defensive front is really good, and we ran all over them. Nothing inflated about that.
