Why does skylar mcbee play

C'mon, he's a walk on, loves being a Tennessee Volunteer, and his attitude and work ethic is appreciated in this day of "look at me... wheres my money..." He is not expected to carry the team, and does fairly well in the role he is expected to fill. Give him a break. Its one thing to bash the star quaterback, even the million dollar making coach, but we are now picking at a walk-on, who gives his all 100% of the time? Really.

So tell me something, are you white or black? I watched the game today and he hustled and broke up a couple passes and actually made a pass on the fast break unlike Hopson or Tatum.....sounds like you dont like seeing any white boy out on the floor....let me guess you also think that every coach should be black....

No, the reason we don't like him is because he sucks at basketball.

I was just amazed that some people have more of a problem with Steven getting minutes as opposed to McBee. You guys are absolutely crazy if you think Pearl is worse than McBee. Either way, neither of them deserve the PT they've been getting, but I guess that's how it goes in a rotation where your two best players are not even averaging 30 mpg.

Skylar plays because he's white and from TN. Which so happens to be 100% of our target audience....and...he hit a three in the Kansas game, which makes him more skilled than 100% of our target audience. Play ball.

Yea, if he was black with the same skill set, he would never see the floor. He only plays because he is white and we have no black folks who attend the games or care about basketball. Man you really need to wake up!

He only plays 13 mins a game...
93% FT shooter and better 3 pt shooter than Trae Golden!

Also better, right now, than Tobias Harris or Cameron Tatum. 3rd on the team in 3-point percentage behind Scotty and Mel.

He also has more assists (14) than turnovers (10), and more steals (14) than turnovers.

He will never be all-SEC, but he also doesn't kill us in 5 minutes of spot duty to rest Scotty or Cam. And there is some reason to believe he can eventually be a solid shooting threat, by his senior season.

I feel like he has though...

His spectacular defense has broken our backs more than a time or two. Any run we go on is pretty much ended when he gets in because they go right at him - and he just loves to foul the jump shooter to make it worse.

just imagin if cris jones doesnt make the grades and harris and hopson get some bad advice and listen to it and enter the draft, which harris if he stays at ut could be a lottery pick after his junior or senior year and scotty needs his senior season to work on a few things that he lacks like being able to dribble well enough to play guard in the nba ,i dont want to see any vol players turn pro early just to end up in spain or somewhere.but if it happens, here is our 3 big guys swiperboy ,hall, maymon and at guard and small foward cam tatum, and mcbee with mcrae as backup and golden at point with no backup, who in this group would score enough to win more than five games ,scary thought isnt it it would be the worst team ive seen at ut in watching ut in the last 38 years and there has been a few bad teams.thats why i hate when people post stuff like whats harris draft status and do you think scotty will be a good nba player. post like these give players the wrong idea we need them they need to play more collage ball to get better and to get nba ready .when they bring up leaving school to enter draft one name crosses my mind marcus haislep who when he left after his junior year was better than tobias which i think tobias will be better but unless he wants to be like haislep who did get drafted and was on an nba roster for a couple of years ,but i think its better to play in collage than to sit bench in pros unless they just want a check.and on different subject i was looking at the vols stats only three score more than ten points then most of the rest of team average less than four,i didnt realize that. and another poster said that scotty missing auburn game was a blessing in disguise if he thinks that who does he expect to take up slack and score his 16.5 points a game ,can brian williams score 18 or 20 and anyone else pick up extra points in scotties place

Yea....He has lost UT basketball games due to spot duty?????
Give me a break

No, I'm referring to the many times that he comes in for Scotty, plays bad defense, gives silly fouls, turns the ball over, and completely destroys our momentum. It has happened several times this season. Give ME a break.

I have no problem with him on mop-up, as that is the only place he deserves in the line-up.

^^^^^^^^^^^^

It amazes me the amount of easily avoidable silly little fouls he commits.

You put him in hoping for that steady shooter you look for in spots. Problem is. Hes not.

Hes also a liability on the other end.

Bone should take his mins. and shots.

I wish BP would play them all more. Keep Hopson, Harris, & Williams PT the same but get Maymon, Hall, even Woolridge some more PT. They all have talent and one of them is going to get hot. Hall can get a couple rebounds, putbacks, and his dunks could get the team some needed energy at times. Maymon can do the same. It seems like Pearl played them all last year and a new guy stepped up every game.
