very true.. there is not a single highlight I can find of him doing anything defensive lol. but again the word athlete gets bandied about too much. Compared to the average person on the street he is crazy athletic.. compared to most basketball players at his level he is slightly above average. When i see someone described as athletic I expect someone that has some outstanding trait. Speed whether straight line or lateral, size, strength, quickness or crazy hops. Something along those lines. I see his tape and nothing athletic jumps off the screen for me. I don't see anything unathletic about him either. Didn't wanna go there but could this be a situation where they mean compared to others with his... eye color? Because if so I think that's an insult to people like Jayson Williams, Mac Mcclung and so on who are just flat out athletic compared to anyone. A good example is this... someone earlier gave a list of people that came out of the same maze program as him... Jaden Springer....look at tape of Jaden Springer and then Blue Cain and tell me Cain is more athletic, by any metric. I think Bobby Maze was misquoted or left out 2 words. He is the most athletic ____ ____ that's come through this program.

So let’s get this straight. You had no clue who Bobby maze had even had in his aau program, but you can tell more from watching a few clips about a guys ability than Maze can from watching both play for years? You sound like a legitimate savant…

No my point is that the guy is not someone that comes across as uber-athletic. Like I said he is not Luka but he is also not Giannis or Derrick Rose. I would assume any decent AAU team would have a guy on it as athletic as him each year. Blue has quite a bit of tape out there on the interwebs if you look for it. I am not saying the guy is slow or unathletic I am just kinda confused that someone like bobby maze would be like the most athletic I have ever had in the program. There are a lot of positive adjectives that could be used to describe his game that's not in my top 10. And even if id only saw a few clips it would only take a few to see if someone is some uber athlete. You see a Josh Bone, ZZ, Springer, Keon, Pon etc you see them take 3 steps with the ball and you know they are athletic. This guy is kind of a skinny James Harden type to me he just trades out the beard for the kewpie doll hair.

Maze has an incentive to exaggerate and it’s good for his AAU whereas message board posters have less of an agenda
