Why is Miss State in the SEC?

No. Yours. Massively

No. The records between Pruitt and Beamer in said years in which the rule breaking happened was 8-4.. You can call a winning record losing if you want to, but you’re not right. Do I need to tell you a 3rd time?

Miss St brings absolutely nothing to the SEC. No TV market, no national brand, etc...

At least Mizzou brings TV markets

USC cheated to win. That’s not OK.
True, but the justice there is they can’t ascend to being one of the top teams in the SEC, cheating or not. Destined to be middle to back of the pack dreamers. But I get your sentiment.

Some would say the same when we lost to Georgia State. Dismount your high house and have a sip of humble juice.

We didn't get BLOWN OUT by them. There is a difference in losing on a last play (even an SEC Champion 1999 Alabama, lost to La Tech on a last play) and not even being competitive.

Miss State wasn't even competitive.

You're a Vols fan, why do you care about Miss. Ste?

Just calling a team out for being embarrassing. No SEC team should ever get blown out by a MAC team. That is the bottom of the toilet kind of behavior.
Well, I keep my life simple. If the team isn't the Vols, I don't give a skunk's butt, or possum's pouch what they do or happens to them. So I have less fan stress as a result., even during my BVS era. It's simple, really.

Why are you posting in the "Around the NCAA Forum" in a thread about Miss State then?

I'm not, I'm posting about YOU. You see, we have a faction of Vols fans who actively hunt for stuff to condemn, curse, and whine about. Your Miss. Ste. FYour fixation is a prime example of that unfortunately reality.

It was posted on Saturday during their game, I think it was relevant. It is also one of the worse performances that I have seen in my lifetime by an SEC team up there with Arkansas 70-17 performance against USC and Arkansas' two seasons with Chad Morris were they got blown out by mid-majors.

No SEC team should get manhandled by a weak G5 school. It is the ultimate failure.

May as well just continue down the path and obliterate the SEC. Eff tradition, kick out about half the teams and make the NFL Lite.

F- thread.

Perhaps. However, the landscape of college football is changing. We're seeing small time schools either beating big bad hotshots, or making it a contest. Whereas in the past, such games were laughable events. The NIL may even be a factor. Where players, for whatever reason, are left out of the big jackpots, but have a lust for playing. End up going to schools they would have turned up their noses at before. It's not farfetched, a small timer collects enough mixed group, fully capable of kicking the butts of some biggies. Just ask Norte Dame, NCST, and Stanford (in 2023 (Sacramento State).

I would like to see the stats on that. I suspect they have little impact.

2023 TV viewership...

Mississippi State literally brings no new markets and was only ahead of Vandy, who also brings no new markets. Missouri was 16th nationally last year.

You can sell STL and KC markets to media companies. That's a lot more lucrative than the Columbus, MS TV market...

Because the rich people don’t want their daughters dating the poor people. That’s why Mississippi has two state schools.
Yep. Ole Miss/Miss St is one of the few college rivalries where the socioeconomic differences between the two fanbases are still very obvious. Probably the most obvious example.

The Alabama/Auburn rivalry has a very similar type of history (an older, more established state university and a younger land-grant university), but over time the student bodies/alumni bases are basically the same socioeconomically.
