yea thats a hell of a compliment to everyone that was there. the carrier dome gets rocking with about 30,000 fans for some games.

i wasnt there so i cant speak first hand, but from friends that went and people i have heard from this was one of the best atmospheres in the last few years.

I was at the game yesterday and TBA was rocking when the Vols were expanding the lead in the second half. It was as loud as I have heard it in years. I will say there were still several times when the crowd was sitting back waiting for something to happen. Can't complain though, overall a great atmosphere.

I think the layout of the arena sucks. The students, who are the loudest part, are stuck in the corner. Yes I know they are not bringing in the money, but I think if they were on the side of the court it would change the atmosphere. Seeing teams with student section on side of the court going nuts really makes it look like people are into the game.

But for UT games all you see are the older people not paying attention.

OHHH and a team that is ranked/good helps.

The Tommy was definitely rocking, especially late in the second half. Prob in the top 5 atmospheres I have been part of there.

you hit the nail on the head "money". we could move students to the side but where does the money come from that those season ticket holders are required to donate, and then the ticket price. i suppose places like duke have boosters that cover the difference?
