Why Isn't UT On Clowney's List?

I'm no Dooley apologist. But it seems to me like gambling on guys we are behind on recruiting and praying they change thier mind vs going after solid but not spectacular players who are more than happy to fill in our MANY holes seems logical at this point. We can't afford to take many shots at guys we are WAY behind on in the recruiting game.

Like the late Fulmer years and even Kiffin's one year. Those multiple swings and misses at top ranked linemen on signing day were demoralizing.

He'd start for UT on day 1.

UT produced 2 of the best DEs in history. Reggie and Doug Atkins.

UT produced the highest paid defensive player in the NFL right not -- AlbertH.

Eric Berry played every game for 3 years and got a $60mm NFL contract as a 21-yo Jr.

And Justin Worley smoked Clowney's team in the season opener.

It UT that much chopped liver these days?

Why don't you go to his football game and hold up a sign stating your points. I bet if he knew about them he would put us on his list!

Why would he come to UT? Our coach looks a dweeb and a moron, and we can't win games.

You and I both know this isn't true. Assuming you keep up with recruiting.

Its been clear since early on last year that he wanted to be close to home for his father (who is in the process of repairing a relationship with his son). But still seriously considers Alabama because they're Alabama and he likes the coaches at UA.

He's joking bro.

So now that his son is the no. 1 high school player and most likely NFL bound his dad wants to repair their relationship? Classy:thumbsup:

I had no idea Brown's college career was over.

while subtley taking that jab, my main point was really more that we were a rebuilding team last year and still got the supposed "best high school running since reggie bush."

as far as whether or not he will eventually live up to the height, i still believe he will. The OP up a few posts was talking about TR being in a whole other league, and i believe that is simply not the case. While TR is an EXTREMELY good back, i think BB could be just as good if he ran behind Bama's line. not to mention we didnt exactly have a Julio Jones to draw some of the attention off the run game.

I guess you're right if you only go by Rivals rankings from 2009.

Trent Richardson was rated lower than Brown by Rivals in 2009. Richardson is in a completely different league than Brown - he is a game breaker.

Bryce never showed that ability while in Orange.

And now he's not in Orange anymore so who cares that he was ever here in the first place.

BB also had ningling injuries throughout his entire freshmen season.

regardless of Bryce Brown's talent or lack thereof he is no longer a Vol.

The number one reason this team is in its current state is attrition, followed by talent.
