That was when Mccain was a liberal. He is a conservative now.
I'm curious to how people will react, if he wins, and goes back to his liberal ways? If he doesn't need the base to get elected don't you think he will go back to what he truly believes in? What happened to the John Mccain that Ann Coulter said she would not vote for and the Mccain that Rush Limbaugh spent so much time dogging out not too long ago? Will he re-appear or is he sold on being more conservative the rest of his life?
Still in 2000 the right in their primaries spoke loud and clear that Bush was heads and shoulders better than Mccain it was'nt even remotely close.actually, it was Gore GWB was running against on "this election night eight years ago".
McCain dropped out of the 2000 Primary race on March 10th when it was obvious he wasn't going to win enough delegates to the convention. Maybe dirty tricks were involved, maybe they weren't, but I doubt what is rumored to have happened in SC would have changed the outcome.

Maybe you should check your history books on the 2000 election cause America did not speak loud and clear for either one plus more Americans cast their vote for GORE or have you forgotten.:thumbsup:just like Gore was heads and shoulders better than anybody else the dems had to offer? The VP of a very popular President can't even win his home state?
Or 2004, was Kerry the best choice the democrats could come up with? Some stiff, effete, northeastern liberal establishment jackass?
If you ask me, the American people spoke clearly in 2000 and 2004 and it wasn't just the right. Maybe this year will be different and enough people want to introduce Euro-style socialism to the US and BO will win.

You can't be serious. A conservative now? Are we talking about the same McCain? The only person in the entire world who believes that McCain is a conservative is McCain himself. He just voted in favor of spending $850B on a $700B bailout package.
McCain is anything but a conservative, but he knows that he has to get the support conservatives if he is going to have any chance of beating B. Hussein Obama. As such, you see McCain running around touting his "conservative principles."
I think it's kind of cute, honestly. Sort of like when Tennessee players get all pumped up after they make a big hit or tackle when they are on the dump side of a 30-6 game with 3 minutes left in the 4th quarter. It may feel good, but it doesn't matter a bit.
If McCain wins the election, he will do exactly what he has always done, which is to reach across the aisle and "get things done" by giving into the demands of asses.
Democrats fault for not offering anybody better... I know there are liberal idiots a-plenty nationwide, but the fact that GWB almost got beat by a guy like Gore speaks volumes. Same thing with Kerry. Dude had nothing going for him, and didn't get beat by that much.just like Gore was heads and shoulders better than anybody else the dems had to offer? How much of the increase from 700 billion to 850 billion is from the tax breaks they wrote in? They counted those breaks as "cost" since they were planning on seeing that money this year and now won't.....what was in the extra 150 billion?
That.
That right there.
That pisses me off more than anything that the right wing neo-cons do most. Using Obama's middle name as some kind of insult, is a right tactic, that I find offensive, and having overtones of being racist towards anybody of Muslim faith.

I disagree with a lot of what the Republican party does, and Democrats are mostly a bunch of inept self-interested a-holes. I hate having to vote.
