Why we hate Vandy

Gotta admit, I liked some of those guard oriented teams that could shoot the eyes out… but since then they over compensate so much and over rub the Ws they’ve become the little sister I never wanna lose to.

I remember Nashvilles most powerful radio station used to be a Vol station. 50k watt WLAC...1510 am. WSM 650 am is a 50k watt station as well but.... I could get it in Northern Illinois...Wisconsin...anywhere at night. Vols calls etc. Then at some point they became a Vandy station. Makes sense since that's Nashvilles hometown team...but Vols fans..media etc dominated Nashville.

I like Stackhouse and I’m a bit surprised by the roster turnover he’s experienced at Vandy. CRB compliments Stackhouse more than any other SEC coach on technical parts of basketball strategy. He seems to be struggling to build a culture at Vandy that attracts guys who want to stick around for 4 years.

When I was a kid 75 years ago, I could not get night games on the radio, but could get Vandy’s, LSU’s and Kentucky ’s games on the radio. That is one reason why I always like LSU, Kentucky, and Vanderbilt even though I was a Tennessee fan all the way. My oldest brother play basketball at Tennessee in the early 1940s but joined the Air Force during WWII. He he got out of the Air Force in 1945, he was married and had a child. At that time, they would not let a married man participate in college sports. They did not want to corrupt the mind of young college athletes.

Yeah, at some point they just became another SEC rival for me.

No Tear it down. Build a decent arena in its place. Name it Barnes arena.

The Vandy alums I usually don’t take exception to. It’s the sidewalk Vandy fan that barely graduated from Metro high school that thinks somehow they’re intelligence is superior cause they pull for those pathetic losers.
