Funny story: I’m a life long Indiana basketball fan, born and raised there, and took my little kids to see a 6’11” center from WI who was headed to play for Crean at IU. Ended up sitting behind the dad and he immediately saw us decked out in IU gear and knew why we were there. Took us down to get pics with his son and autograph my kids basketballs.

My daughter was like 4 and the kid picked her up and got pics with her the cheerleaders were melting ;)

Anyway, the Indy Star did an article on this kid and he specifically talked about IU fans and how great they are and mentioned that a family with children came to his Wisconsin HS game and that shows their loyalty. Well that was us lol

So yes if absolutely leaves an impression particularly out of state!

The Verona Area Wildcats wide receiver and defensive back scored three touchdowns in three different ways as Verona cruised to a 49-7 win over Janesville Craig to finish the regular season unbeaten in the Big Eight Conference.

Poteat started off his excellent performance taking a slant route for 56 yards for the game’s opening touchdown in the first quarter...followed that up with a 70-yard punt return later in the first quarter and concluded the opening half with a 24-yard interception return that put the Wildcats up 42-7.

A Craig defender had the opportunity to tackle Poteat on both the punt return and the slant route, but Poteat’s breakaway speed was too much to handle.

Oct 19: [Verona head coach Andrew] Riley has put an emphasis on using Poteat in a variety of ways as a defensive back, punt returner, kick returner, running back and receiver. “He tilts the field,” Riley said. “He puts in the work every week. He does it with grace, helping his teammates along. He never gets big headed about it. He’s a joy to work with. We talked as coaches these past couple of weeks, we have to leave everything out there this year. We don’t want to go away from this year thinking how I could have used Tre differently. So let's try all these different things and it has really been paying off for us.”
Football: No. 2 Verona caps third straight unbeaten Big Eight championship

Verona fell to Arrowhead in a playoff game tonight, but Poteat was a consistent force all season long on defense, offense, and special teams.

Season stats (11 games; defensive stats only available for 10 games):
* Defense: 35 tackles, 6 INT (2 returned for TDs), 4 forced fumbles
* Offense: 34 rushes for 318 yards and 1 TD, 45 receptions for 580 yards and 7 TDs, 2 of 2 passing for 8 yards and 2 TDs
* Returns: 15 punts for 407 yards and 4 TDs, 4 kickoffs for 153 yards and 1 TD

Watching his film I’m reminded of Jimmy Calloways senior highlights…I always thought Calloway would have been a dawg at CB but I guess the coaches didn’t agree or Calloway wouldn’t make the move…hopefully Poteat gets the right assignment from the start…after watching that I can’t help but think he’d do well in the slot

He’s definitely at CB at Tennessee IMO.
We need depth there still and this kid as you can see- a playmaker
